I don't think I would like my ev battery drained to make up for grid balancing needs and constant charging/draining shortens the life of batteries. There wont be enough street charging points to cope with demand either.

Valuerebel - I agree that this is a long term bet and I see it following a similar path as ITM in 2-3 years time. Re-using waste has to start happening and far better this way than burning fossil fuels (which without the heavy subsidies they currently get would be far more expensive). We need the govts to stop fossil subsidies and put the money into these projects instead! With a USA connection already established it won't be long before a major partner arrives on the scene - eg the BP strategy is to go carbon neutral by 2050. BPVLS Jet Fuel !!

Baz28 that is a major point you made re electrical supply to houses. Put simply we cannot transfer to total electric in spite of what Elon Musk says about H2. Add to that many households do not have a garage or carport where they can recharge overnight. NG has already experienced days when it is close to 100% demand so the idea that the grid can take over from petrol and diesel when ICE is banned is a non starter.

Lot of hype going on about NKLA at present. Cummins is a major US truck producer well down the road already (and H2 trains); they bought Hydrogenics last year. They also have a partnership with Hyundai. Roas transport is just one slice of the cake and hgv/buses/vans will come first to drive forward the H2 refuellkng infrastructure. H2 is far better than battery for these vehicles. Once the H2 refuelling infrastructure is sufficiently developed the car manufacturers can start producing fuel cell cars in the volumes needed to make them competitive. They can't do that at the moment as the costs are too high and demand too low through lack of refuelling. It will happen - there is no debate - ICE is banned from 2035 and manufacturers will race to be leaders in the post-ICE world or face extinction.

Good news - I got into VLS recently. The new Immingham plant making jet fuel from plastic waste etc will have access to a pipeline to Heathrow! If successful it will have scalability.

I sold a holding in Reckitt Benkiser once after a detailed, plausible and scathing prediction by an analyst in the FT. I then watched as the sp went on to double. Lesson learned.......

Ps - selling 100% is a safe option to de-risk but you don't want to be out and miss out on the ongoing journey. A minimum of 30% buy back would avoid future sleepless nights when ITM get to the next level:-)

Announcements from ILE or ITM Motive about major new deals/accelerating H2 refuelling rollout with Gov't support will take the share to new levels. Till then I think this day to day volatility will continue but so far the sp has been satisfyingly resilient!

Static you have to remember that the BOD have no better crystal ball than ours and have a lot more at stake from a risk perspective. They are no doubt very confident about the future of the company but need to judge when to take options. We have had a very fast bull run which they want to take advantage of having exercised large amounts at much lower prices. Don't read more into this than is really the case.

Don't forget Mr Cooley exercised 1m stock options at 70p. Look what happened afterwards......
