The gov.uk website covering costs of future nuclear decommissioning (their current estimate £133bn) has this appalling statement quote However, forecasts for work that will be carried over the next century are inevitably uncertain: the future is impossible to predict. It will be a number of years, for example, before many site programmes resolve exactly how the work will be delivered and identify suitable technologies. ie we finance building nuclear stations without any idea of the cost of decommissioning them and therefore no budgetary figure for whkle life cost to compare against alternatives. Scandalous.

Cummins Fuel Cell Truck
From the Cummins website - Just last week, Cummins announced it will work with longtime customer Navistar on the development of a class 8 truck powered by hydrogen fuel cells. The truck will be integrated into Werner Enterprises’ fleet of more than 7,700 tractors for local and regional service on a year-long trial basis out of Fontana, California.

“Cummins is unique in that our portfolio has both hydrogen production from electrolysis as well as fuel cells,” said Amy Adams, Vice President – Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Technologies. “This enables us to offer a full, differentiated hydrogen solution from start to finish, seamlessly integrated for customers.”

The other huge problem is nuclear station decommissioning which is always downplayed as it is a problem for future generations that nuclear promoters don't care about (a sadly common human problem).

Blow to clean hydrogen sector as major truck maker rules out H2 for long-distance transport - it simply isn't true......Westport Fuel Systems is just one example.

Hill18 - you will note from my posts yesterday that Scania giving up on fuel cell trucks is bogus - fake news.

We are the lucky ones given what is going on around us.....

The drop has to be viewed in the light of the very large and rapid rises recently. I am a very LTH and simply look at these fluctuations as stabilisation during a long upward trend. Good luck to those who can take extra profit along the journey by trading on the peaks and troughs.

My earlier posts on Fortum relate partly to this. We can enjoy all the benefits of investing in fuel cell and at the same time own a slice of the EV charging network with plugsurfing now owned by Fortum - nothing quite like hedging your bets! Fortum is into hydrogen too - brilliant!

Anyone looking to spread risk this Finnish company is worth a look imho. It has bought plugsurfing an EV recharging company (I like the irony of getting income from EV recharging) has a good 5% yield and is the major stakeholder in Uniper (which is heavily into hydrogen). Nuclear, hydro, hydrogen, EV recharging, healthy yield.

Look at the share price chart over one year and this blip is hardly noticeable. Big picture - long horizons and lower expectations of continuous daily increases which defy gravity.

Oil and gas industry market cap is c$1 trillion - ITM market cap c$5bn. We are growing they are shrinking - ladies and gentlemen place your bets.
