Thanks Bellers. Unlike McPhy in France who have just been given €110m of support by the French Govt ITM get little support here. Instead we give money to the French Govt for building vulnerable nuclear power stations as they are nationalising EDF and will have us over a barrel. So much for Brexit independence not to mention energy dependency. We have learnt nothing from the Ukraine crisis.

They decided to enlarge the current factory to increase production there vs the new build. That will come in time.

I totally agree. What do we need - energy. When do we need it - now. Nuclear is not the answer to the problem and decomissioning costs are always forgotten (deliberately otherwise it would never experienced approved).

I am hoping the same thing with King Charles - at the very least he will probe deeply into any proposals which only make financial sense to those likely to profit (JRM being one) vs being beneficial to the planet, during the PM's weekly audience.

What to do when facing an existential climate threat and crippling effect of not being energy dependent? Double down on ff production and energy dependent nuclear power spending. At a time when renewable shares should be sky high and home grown companies benefitting from economic stimulus we go backwards and repeat what failed in the past. It defies any dort of logic or common sense.

Blanket the UK with solar via subsidies for businesses, landlords and house owners. Subsidise H2 blending in gas grid up to the 20% level below which no upgrades needed. Encourage private investment and ownership in windpower. Kick the Tories out if they don't do it.
