90 H2 refuelling stations in Germany, 250 in China. We are closing ours. Pathetic.

Thanks Nacnud,
Somewhat under-whelming to say the least! It takes a pandemic for the Govt to take serious action (which is then done badly in a hurry). No visionaries or champions of the type needed for climate change which happens slowly but needs fast action to prevent catastrophe.
We haven't got enough money to save the planet so let's spend it on something else.
Where is the strategy?

We need someone to ensure we get a slice of this cake as well:

Having a German national as CEO might help also. Deal closure seemed to be a real problem for GC - what was the outcome of years of German P2G trials etc

Is this strategic to make take-over by Linde easier? Hopefully not!
The new BMW 7i weighs 400kg more because of the batteries - equivalent to 4 passengers. Heavy HGVs will no doubt be double or triple that but the content of the batteries is also conveniently forgotten.
If we had a h2 refuelling infrastructure in place it would be a no brained. That is the obstacle to overcome. I think a hybrid battery/fc range extender is the way to go - for small/medium vans also.
He also overlooked the potential of the gas grid to take vast quantities of green hydrogen without modification till gas boilers are phased out. The trouble is he has a lot of influence with decision makers and that harms the refuelling case and gas grid opportunity. Germany/ France/Japan and S Korea etc will forge ahead while we drag our heels.
