I think its very short sighted and weak to think we need to be drip fed by the EU, which is an inefficient, backward thinking political dinosaur. The US would do a deal very quickly, China would look to increase its world influence and via the Commonwealth we could deal with India, Canada and Australasia. Europe is on a declining curve and the EU will be finished in 10 years as Germany throws in the towel and goes it alone.

The 5% decline is irrelevant if all oil production is not running at full capacity, we've seen with a short spike in oil how countries can up their production. I don't see oil at over $100 again, perhaps a $60-80 cycle for next 5 years. Unless US shale starts seeing steep decline rates of its larger fields, which was supposed to be the case but no evidence yet.

Personally I think the Zama prospect will double in size with the appraisals, or more accurately the Greater Zama area.
