As well as 4D Steve Oliveira is a shareholder in Forte Biosciences Inc, which is developing a live biotherapeutic product for dermatitis.

They recently were granted fast track designation from the FDA following a successful Phase 1/2a trial. I think it was Oliveira and Chardan that proposed this route to 4D as they were not aware of the potential given the great oncology results.

Iovance Therapeutics also presented data at SITC earlier this month. They are targeting similar solid tumours for a phase 2 study similar to 4D and are also combining their therapy with Keytruda.

But having problems getting regulator on board and their therapy involves going on a drip and getting other cancer drugs with side effects.

This company is valued at 5bn USD. They are a cell therapy company and their programmes look to have similar aims to 4D as in developing immunotherapies by injecting more or less the same cancer killing cells that 4D look to generate in the gut.

They are trying to get accelerated FDA approval based on a similar success rate to the one 4D got in the phase 1 Keytruda trial but they are finding it tricky as their treatment is quite complex.

So they have shown evidence that

a) Mrx 0518 can work with checkpoint inhibitors like Keytruda to prevent stage 4 cancer patients from dying.
b) Mrx 0518 can work on its own to kill cancer cells prior to tumour surgery as an alternative to chemotherapy.

So weird that retail investors jump into bio tec companies but then don't want to know about the science and then complain that it's all too complicated.

Was reading an article about £3bn Seres Therapeutics in Seeking Alpha last night. Seems to have gone behind paywall now.
Despite the recent success the company seems a real mess. Last year they had to let go 30% of their staff including their chief scientific officer.
It also looks like they will have to get an FDA priority review on their Phase 3 c dificil trial because they didn't include enough patients.
