The Zetland Lifeboat was launched in 1802
The oldest Lifeboat in the world launched in South Shields , called the Original was launched in 1789.
Zetland is the oldest surviving Lifeboat. The 4th oldest surviving Lifeboat is in South Shields
However in Shields St Hildas Church
If you visited the church you would find the actual model of the the Original 'Original
Its hanging from the ceiling, made from brass.
So technically the oldest surviving Lifeboat is hanging in a church, because it's the only surviving model of a Lifeboat submitted for the competition for the best design.

Once we find out the location, it's easy enough to find out more about which Sea Cadet unit is nearest, or even the District Boat house ( normally houses all the boats from 6 Sea Cadet Units)

What are people's thoughts about donating 68 shares each after the asset sale, to buy a boat/vessel in honour of JT & donating it to the local Sea Cadets as a lasting tribute & legacy.
