Today, Wednesday December 19, in the city of Bogotá - Colombia, a contract was signed between the public company Petroecuador and the company Amerisur Exploración Colombia Limitada. The object is to transport crude coming from Colombia, through the SOTE, from Lago Agrio to the Balao Maritime Terminal.
The minimum capacity assigned to the company Amerisur, to be transported is 5,000 barrels per day (BPD) of a crude oil API minimum of 25. The tariff that the contracting company will pay is set by the Hydrocarbons Regulation and Control Agency ( ARCH) in application to Article 62 of the Hydrocarbons Law.
The term of this contract will be 15 years counted from the date of subscription. However, by mutual agreement, each of the parties may terminate the contractual relationship or extend the term established according to the causes determined in the legal instrument.
This Contract was subscribed backed by:
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Republic of Colombia and the Ministry of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources of the Republic of Ecuador, to promote and facilitate the transportation of hydrocarbons by pipelines, signed on November 4, 2011.
Binational Agreement between the Republic of Ecuador and Colombia to promote and facilitate the transportation and export of hydrocarbons, signed on February 11, 2013.
Cooperation agreement for the use of the Oil Pipeline Network of the Amazonian District (RODA) signed between Petroamazonas EP and Amerisur Resources PLC on June 11, 2015.
For the resolution of disputes will apply, in the first instance, direct negotiations and international arbitration duly authorized by the Attorney General of the State, through official letter No. 10197 of April 17, 2017.
The document was signed by the General Manager of EP Petroecuador, Pablo Flores and the Legal Representatives of Amerisur Resources PLC and Amerisur Exploración Colombia Limited, John Wardle and Fernando Rueda, respectively.
The SOTE, with a length of 497.7 kilometers, extends between Nueva Loja and Balao, crossing the provinces of Sucumbíos, Napo, Pichincha, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas and Esmeraldas.
The company Amerisur Resources PLC and its subsidiary Amerisur Exploración Colombia Limited are companies dedicated to the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, among others. They are currently in the production and development cover of the Platanillo Field, in the department of Putumayo, Republic of Colombia.
