Ryan Mee, CEO of Fulcrum Metals, reviews FY23 and progress on the Gold Tailings Hub in Canada. Watch the video here.
Hi Mike, sadly yes but I am encouraged by the following.
1. Shipping is cyclical and when it recovers profit margins are excellent
2.China as it has done in previous years is finalising its latest economic growth plan/stimulus. As this commences rates should correspondingly increase
3. New ship builds for the next two years are low and as ships become redundant should also help rates.
4. Ed only took over as CEO of Grindrod in March so now we should really start to see economies of scale kick in.
I am taking a three to five year view here so at the moment am taking advantage of the low share price to buy more through the excellent dividends. By this time next week we should know. If in this challenging market they have managed to meet deleveraging targets then I will be delighted and it will have been no mean achievement . bst rgds for a great weekend
Interactive investor have advised that although I have a w8-ben for one account they did not apply it to my isa account. They are saying this was their mistake and are trying to sort it out. Hopefully I will get the money involved. Secondly they were unable to tell me if the dividend was paid in dollars or pounds into my account or converted. I have therefore taken the precaution of filling in the form to send to computer share to ensure it is paid in sterling.
Thank you. appreciate that. I am going to call II Monday to see. I definitely have a w8 - ben in my name that appears to show no account number with it. Another possibility is that for some reason the shares were still paid in US dollars and currency costs etc. When I have an answer I will post here to help others not make the same mistake...... if indeed I have made one.
Previously I held my shares in US dollars and received the dividend in us dollars. The deduction was approx 15 percent given that I had put in place a w8 -ben. A few months ago I put them into an isa and for that they had to be converted into sterling shares. Today I received the dividend in sterling but with a near 30 percent deduction . Grateful if anyone can advise if this is correct or if II have mucked this transaction up ?
Hi all, no one wants anyone to lose money but I think Rogers post simply illustrates the sheer frustration at what should have been a good investment that has been so mishandled by the board. I feel these New Zealanders have taken UK shareholders for suckers and that leaves a very unpleasant taste in the mouth. It may still come good but I am not with any company that doesn't keep me informed and above all if I do not respect the the management team. This failed for me on both counts some months ago
Hi mike, by the look of it they are at it again today. Thanks so much for your informative reply. You are much better at the indexes than I am ! I had expected to see a couple of more disposals to assist in bringing down the acquisition debt but no sign of any. Good to keep in touch. Sam
So annoys me when buys are reported as sells. Seems to happen with increasingly regularity for a number of companies. My 3000 plus buy reported as a sell. Mike, trust all good with you ? How have the indexes being doing if you have moment ? Getting slowly nearer to July 13 and release of annual report which will also involve a presentation of how they are getting on.. bst rgds Sam
Hi Trek, thank you so much for your speedy and very informative reply. I have sold the majority of my BP shares, divi 4.5, and bought more here as well as taylor maritime. For the last six months I have been moving away from what I view sadly as 'political shares' such as Bp and drax as I fear these may be the sort of shares impacted by a labour government. The dividend here is just amazing. Good hunting !
Hi Trek, like you I am adding. My two biggest holdings by far now are this and Taylor Maritime Investments. The dividend on the latter is approaching 10 per cent but just seen that diversified is now in excess of 16 ! Normally this would sound alarm bells for me but despite going over and over the figures I still see it as a solid investment. Any investment as we all know involves risk but would welcome hearing your thoughts on what level of risk you attach to this share because as advised I see it as low. Bst rgds Sam
Went for further shares through primary bid this morning. I hold my shares with interactive investor. Just noticed that they emailed me this morning with offer and saying to complete how much I wish to apply for. When I try and enter any figure as a test it wont let me. Makes me wonder if offer now completed ?
Delighted with the share price rise. However, by settling out of court will this not make other claimants even more determined to continue with the court route and attempt to get a settlement from the company ? Net result the company could in the end be paying out a whole lot more ?
Hi Dave, I salute your belief in this share. I too used to communicate with the CEO. All I would say from my own experience is be a little cautious about what he says, especially concerning any timescales. From the agm I attended and subsequent communications, timeframes were very far off the mark. Hope it comes good for you
Noticed a couple of very large late in day buys yesterday and a couple of days before. One for 150,000 and then a new one of 200,000. Originally marked as unknown transaction but then marked as buys. Fascinating if someone new and large building a stake at these low prices.
Same thing has happened to me on three occasions with this share. Another share I had in the past , cordiant digital had the same issue recently. Funny games. A unidentified transaction went through this week of a million and a half shares. I am currently buying more of this as and when funds become available. Was in my personal opinion under-priced 6 months ago let alone now.
