On the 24 up-days MS bought 730,836,476
On the 29 down-days they bought 1,252,046,633
53 days = 1,982,883,109
These numbers are not to be relied as I have used average results and (as LTI points out) MS have to follow a set of rules that will also affect the outcome.
Saying that there does appear to be a trend towards buying more on down days.

I've been keeping a daily total and agree with hardup's figures
The buybacks are set to end when they have bought £2B worth or 31/12/22
There is also a limit on the total they can purchase but unless the share price drops to 20p that wont apply.
SUF "Personally happy with the buyback program to date. Reading the market perfectly IMHO"
On 7/3 they bought 86,906,913 at £35M
At today’s prices the same amount would cost £42M
If we get back to pre-Poohtin prices they would cost £47M
If they reach a ceasefire agreement, we could be buying em back at £50M.
I know there are rules/restrictions on buybacks but the sooner done the better IMO.
"At this rate of progress based on say 20 trading days / month we are looking end of July before the buy-back is complete"
The current average is 55,000,000 per day at 45p
if we carry on like that it will done and dusted by middle of June
Love the name I once bet on a on a horse called Shy Talk but as its name suggested, it didnt win.
Yesterday’s buyback was poor but the daily average for the first 9 days is: - 56,603,088 @ 45p
If that carries on, we will have completed the £2B by 15th June
I was hoping for jam sandwiches this morning. After this measly divi I can’t even afford the bread.
or English .... too good :) :0) ;o))
seepee
I know.... I got greedy and bin regretting ever since
This is definitely a 'jam tomorrow' share. Im having jam sarnies in 24hrs
I'll join you :0)
6 months ago I said I would sell most of my holdings when we hit 55p. 1) when will that happen? 2) will I sell or will greed take over?
SBT
With that statement he will be sure to get one prediction correct in 2021
Merry Christmas everone!
I know that, I said that tongue-in-cheek.
But Ive had enough of 'jam tomorrow' with this share. I remember the Portugese Bandit, years ago, proming the earth (was it returning 70% of profit to share holders?) and it not happening. Im just miffed that all.
