Agree it’s disheartening to see large sellers, and they’ve been around for many months now, but there’s nothing the company can do about it other than get on with their jobs and deliver commercial income. They seem to be doing that from recent announcements..

All true, but it’s called an “operational trial” for a reason. MSC need to evaluate if the fuel works ok for them operationally. That includes bunkering, storage, delivery to engine and the efficient use of manpower to make it all happen. It needs to pass all of those tests before it can replace HFO as a valid fuel.

MSAR passed the operational part of the trial with Maersk but fell short of the 4000 hours for a full LONO. The odds are heavily in favour of BioMSAR and MSAR successfully completing all trials.

I seem to recall Jason mentioned Rotterdam and Singapore specifically when discussing roll out some months back. It would certainly be good for us to be part of such a partnership.

So often QFI are criticised for a lack of clarity in their PR and public comments. On Twitter they published a trials schedule which clearly states MV Leandra will be the trial vessel for both fuels including LONO.

Seems quite definitive to me!

I think it’s fair to say that the “GoM” carrot was dangled for many years by successive CEO/Chairmen. It used to get us excited but in reality there was nothing there, proof is in the pudding as they say.
If they do get involved now, it’s because they have to as public opinion and crucially industry opinion, has shifted towards lower carbon fuels. Their partners like MSC lead the way in this regard.

Would GoMs have bothered if the status quo had prevailed? I doubt it very much, so yes some of it IS geeenwashing in that they are following rather than leading, and belatedly joining the “save the planet” movement. In the past they spent £Billions collectively trying debunk and obscure man made climate change. Same attitude as the tobacco companies, putting shareholder interests before human health and environmental health.

They’re doing the same tests on both fuels, PoC followed by LONO followed by commercial discussions.
MSAR has no privileged position during the testing programme.

Looks like an MSAR LONO is to follow on when BioMSAR completes. Will take a bit longer but at least it’s in the programme.

The “something big” in the offing is already known to us. We are currently preparing for a LONO trial later this year and an industrial trial in Morocco Q3 which should lead quite quickly to commercial discussions. I consider that pretty big.

The share price is where it is due to an abundance of cheap shares for sale, it’s really that simple. The reasons for sale are not 100% known but it’s probably safe to say has nowt whatever to do with what QFI are currently engaged in or their future prospects. The current owners want rid of their shares at whatever price the market can achieve, so an element of “distressed seller” seems to exist.

Had the seller(s) kept their stock, there’s also little doubt we’d be somewhere North of 3p by now as buying was vigorous and sustained after the MSC news. The market is generally bearish but I’m confident we will make progress as things develop toward year end. Get the sellers out of the way, successful trial in Morocco and hopefully a commercial agreement to follow will change the landscape completely. Not saying the SP will boom to dizzy heights but our share price will better reflect company value.

MSC have not committed to “taking our fuels commercially”, get your facts correct when posting Haggis. They’ve committed to trials at this stage. You can read whatever you want into their actions but don’t state as fact something that is not true.

Oil in water emulsion, because it uses cheaper residue (not HFO/MGO) and up to 30% water, can provide financial and environmental savings well beyond what this tech offers. Whilst it is competition, I should think any eventual users, if given a choice, would select msar over this fuel.

I agree though that it represents emulsion coming into the mainstream of bunker fuels and for that reasons it’s a good development.

Will Mexico politicians do what’s right or what they always do, forgive economic logic for short term political advantage and corruption? I’m not confident they’ll ever do the right thing but you never know.

It’s worth bearing in mind that fuel supply contracts won’t be between QFI and Morocco, so there’s a bit more to it than a simple follow on commercial deal.
There will likely be a supplier in mind but the customer and supplier (likely a refinery, Cepsa perhaps) will need to come to an agreement as will QFI with the refinery.

Look to stated target times for “commercial supply” guidance and were looking at early 2023 for that to kick in, but with agreements in place sometime in Q4 this year.

The share price is stuck where it is for one reason. There are too many sellers (or a few sellers selling too many shares). The good news of MSC LONO trials served only to facilitate a large offload for whomever was selling with the result the expected share price rise didn't happen, in fact the selling has continued into modest volumes forcing the price even lower, basic I know.

When the selling volume dry up we will likely make a small gain but doubt it will be much as those who wanted to buy in on LONO news have probably done so at crazy cheap prices. So we await Morocco news to hopefully get us off our knees.

Longer term beyond the sellers, QFI is looking strong, just needs the projects to deliver commercial deals and the company will do well. I don’t expect any major SP shift till Morocco signs a deal.

What I know is what my eyes are telling me, have you not noticed the SP anchored in the mid 1.40’s?

If Miton were out, which way do you think the SP would go? At a wild guess I’d say Up, yet it’s still trundling along where it is shifting millions of shares. Doesn’t take Sherlock to work it out and I certainly don’t need your advice on the matter, prefer whatever is obvious to your hypotheticals.
