For those who don’t read links I have copied an interesting section of the testing procedure , it mentions “GOLD STANDRD” now who has the “gold standard “test ????

THE SCIENCE

The tests use the gold standard of virus detection, RT-PCR testing. They are sensitive enough to detect the particles of COVID-19, even if the passenger has displayed no symptoms. Swabs will be securely transported from the Airport to one of Collinson’s biotech labs, which can then process specimens generally within five hours, after which passengers are alerted that their result is ready to be viewed in their account.

We have a big advantage already in been able to use sputum as Roche’s test is only oral and nasal based and as harts says these are reasonably invasive and unpleasant.

I imagine if you can use sputum and that saliva is similar and we know how quick to react to market needs novacyt are that we Have a great head start in bringing a saliva based test to market.

We have a sputum based test which is from a deeper section of the lungs, I’ve not heard that we have a saliva based test yet . I hope I am proved wrong , has anybody any evidence of this yet ?
If so this would be a game changer .

I normally find doing the opposite to what this lot say is better than following the advice they give in their articles.

If there is one thing this share has done, it has taught me to be patient.

The fundamentals and potential of this company are so positive and great things will happen in regards to the share price.

Focus on the market cap and the fact that if we can carry on selling all the 10 million tests a month we are currently producing our sales will more than exceed this by the year end.

I am more than happy letting this share ride out now and have learnt not to obsess with this BB any more and carry on enjoying things that are far more important to me in my life , safe int the knowledge that my patience will be rewarded as i continue holding shares in this fantastic company, unlike most aim shares i believe the rewards will come medium to long term.

The tests Ncyt produce will hopefully let all of us carry on the lives we have all been accustomed too and hopefully earning us all a few pennies too and keeping those less fortunate safe as this pandemic seems to be moving away from europe and heading to less developed and privileged parts of the world than ours.

You came into this a few months after me and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and hope you have a big enough holding left to carry on your great contributions to this board ???

I for one won’t be thinking of selling any of mine until it reaches at least £6 which based on the current CV19 climate and all the further sales , contracts, director buy ins at £3 and future great news to be announced shouldn’t be too far off IMO.

Hi all.
As I mentioned the other day regarding ours and Roche’s test been the first WHO approved cv 19 tests at market , I’ve read through the outlines and specifics of both tests .
I am no scientist but I believe our test has two significant advantages over the Roche test .
Our uses nasopharyngeal and oropharnrynegal and more importantly sputum to give results .
Where as the Roche test doesn’t state that it can achieve results from sputum based samples.

. Roche also states that there test takes 3.5 hrs to process . This wouldn’t be classed as High throughput in my opinion .
OUr test can also be used cross platform with some Roche machines where as far as I can gather Roche tests are specific to Roche lightcycle testing instruments.

There might have been developments and improvements to both tests since the test specifics where published as it was in April ,However I feel this gives us significant advantages , that Roche will be aware of . Imagine what they could do with our company if they did decide to do a joint venture or takeover of/with us ?
If you were the CEO of Roche and struggling hitting testing targets what would you do with this knowledge and spending power available to a major pharmaceutical company ?

Hi trotter, his points do make more sense on that BB compared to the statements he was recently making over here .
He seems to turn up when a share is in a downward movement though and try and scaremonger as he was doing here a few weeks ago .
I believe he had shorts to close here and hopefully he didn’t scare any newer NCYT investors into selling as we seemed to have turned the corner and are heading in the right direction again .

. You have listened to and learnt from many investors on here and upheld your beliefs and optimism of this share .
We have lost some of the original members of this NCYT gang but I have enjoyed your contributions and agree with your sentiment .
I like to give credit where it is due and I credit you and other long term posters also , gggg21, bladesharp , vanv( MIA ? ) and all the rest of the contributors .
Our patience , belief in the company and research will soon be rewarded . GLA old and new .

So on 7th April 2020 the WHO approved two CV19 tests for approval .
Roches and Primerdesign , OURS !
It states that ours ( at the time ) was for smaller scale testing and Roche’s was to be usedin larger labs..
This was before our new CV19 high throughput test was available . I’m sure the WHO wont be depending on just Roche to supply these tests and after our manufacturing upscaling capacity and distribution deals we will be involved in some way .

WHO has listed the first two diagnostic tests for emergency use during the Covid-19 pandemic. The move should help increase access to quality-assured, accurate tests for the disease. It also means that the tests can now be supplied by the United Nations and other procurement agencies supporting the COVID-19 response.

Both in vitro diagnostics, the tests are genesig Real-Time PCR Coronavirus (COVID-19) and cobas SARS-CoV-2 Qualitative assay for use on the cobas® 6800/8800 Systems.

“The emergency use listing of these products will enable countries to increase testing with quality assured diagnostics,” says Dr Mariângela Simão, WHO Assistant-Director General for Medicines and Health Products. “Facilitating access to accurate tests is essential for countries to address the pandemic with the best tools possible.”

The Emergency Use Listing procedure (EUL) was established to expedite the availability of diagnostics needed in public health emergency situations. It is intended to help procurement agencies and countries navigate the large presence of different devices on the market and, by assessing them, provides assurance of the products’ quality and performance.

The genesig Real-Time PCR Coronavirus (COVID-19) (Primerdesign, United Kingdom) is an open system more suitable for laboratories with moderate sample testing capacity, while the cobas® SARS-CoV-2 for use on the cobas® 6800/8800 Systems (Roche, United States of America) is a closed system assay for larger laboratories.

This is potentially groundbreaking for Novacyt share holders . 500 million tests is a huge number , as you say it will have much more of an impact than the mysterious US figures we are still waiting to hear about .
As we are only one of three WHO testers we must be involved in their new strategy to defeat Cv 19.
I ve been reading this chat and holding this share since February and it really has been a rollercoaster of a ride.
I Havnt lost faith though and believe that a lot of work has been going on and all will be revealed soon .
