Good post rbm invest . We have many thread titles going at the moment but I think this is the most positive to reply to and hopefully drowns out more idiotic ones from some of our new additions to the group.
I believe GM knows what he is doing , he is building a top notch team around him and has been for a while . If you look at the job vacancies you can see they have been leaning to the private business side for a while now . He probably knew that the DHSC wasn’t nailed on and he was diversifying into other areas albeit building up for the DHSC contract at the same time .
I really hope to see a PR and sales offensive on that of a war footing going forward, I’ve heard it said that it is bad business to appear to be profiteering in a pandemic but if that’s what the government think then fine. Show all the old contracts we didn’t think were news worthy by RNS and redeploy some DHSC support staff into building business with the rest of the worlds 149 countries we supply to .
I’m glad GM held firm and didn’t lower prices at that devalues your amazing products and encourages other companies to start a price war to render your first class tests almost worthless .
We make the best most adaptable gold standard tests in the world , now is the time to start shouting it from the rooftops and selling it to the rest of the world !

I think there was a done deal but the government were getting pressure from the hospitality / airline businesses to lower the prices on the PCR tests .
Instead of asking secondary suppliers to lower prices I believe the government went straight to NCYT who were already selling at a discount to sell at even lower prices .
NCYT said no , government threw teddy out of the pram and cancelled contract .
I don’t think this is the end of it .

I said this at 1 o clock amidst all the madness .
There are many things going on that we don’t know about .
We will be back up again , annoyed , frustrated but still a believer .

I totally agree with you ALB.
It has to be the right test though which picks up all the new variants and is adaptable to detecting newer variants .
OURS .
We have also seen some of big pharmas tests stating they can’t pick up some of these new variants , rendering their tests useless . This gives us more of the market share , makes our products more in demand , and the Novacyt brand more desirable to any of the big pharma who find their own tests somewhat lacking ;)

I’m feeling we are in the right place at the right time with the right products.
Slowly the market is starting to realise this . I’m feeling very positive about this share again .
Novacyt ready and waiting to help , they are never needed more than now on my opinion .

It’s hard when most of the press are still pushing for cheaper LFT tests . Article about the new traffic light system on daily mail didn’t mention that the tests were PCR until the last paragraph and then stated how expensive they were compared to LFT.

At least the government realise the risk of new variants and are choosing PCR , for now .......

This is why only PCR testing is acceptable before the floodgates from high case areas are open bringing back potential nee variants back to the uk.

Yes great to see evidence of the units out there . I’d imagine each department will have multiple units to cope with varying amount of incoming patients at different times .
At one test every 90 minutes though I think I’d be giving the nudge the nudge eh Wilson ?

That states results in three hours for the q16 gggg ?
I thought we had got it down to 90 minutes without using promate which speeds the process up even more .
Early days of use I guess , and the 90 minutes it takes for the nudge is only for one test.
The q16 will do 14 from one unit .
