Current ones (5000) I bought for 246.6 but back on 22 Nov. I over anticipated their rise but I'm happy with them. Notice that I allowed an £80 overnight gain on Fevr to bleed away to -£4.
Cob where subject to an agreed takeover over by some US company at 165 (up from 130? on the day) naturally I was out of them at the time but investor nervousness (thoughts that the govn wouldn't allow the takeover) pulled the price back to 155ish. I bought some so I will be getting my consolation prize when the cheques qrrive qt the end of the month. This is the third takeover situation that i have done this trick but it isnt without risk.
Incidently, do you consult short tracker .co.uk? I see OCDO is 3.1% shorted.

well I bought at 1318, maybe a little high. Didn't sell any. Didn't sell anything today. Missed my chance to sell WJG but I'm sanguin about it. I'm having a moments silence for COB which is delisted first thing monday. One of my top performers 2 years ago.

Sorry spero you are right. I am an OCDO enthusiast, I think they are undervalued and feel safe to hold them. If they are treated as a tech stock (or indeed are separated into two) more value could be realised.

6500 bought at 212, then after the fall bought 10000 at 60, Ithey got up to 66 but I didn't take that profit, blinded bythe loss on the 6500. Strategy? None, just become a LTH I guess

well, I'm in UK at the moment, for the next 2 months so the french project is on hold.
I am a software engineer and start self employment around 1981, over the years, I always had either too much work or not enough so in a drought of work in 2002? I found a ruin in Brittany thinking that I could do it up with my 'spare' time between software contracts, really to generate an asset. I was time rich so I resolved to learn building trades on the job, one or two things I had to tear down and restart! But it was good use of my time and when more software contracts came along, some of them I was even able to work from home, be it UK or france. I have been very lucky. Just in case you think I am charmed, I bought a shed load of TLR at over 200 AND STILL HAVE THEM!

By the way, yes, I knew that about carrying CGT losses, I am already doing it.

T. whoops, missed your suggestion re ASOS today, too busy watching TCM, OCDO and WJG. Missed the boat with WJG, I had decided to sell and was in process when they lost about 2p of todays 7p gain. Ho hum.

From the graphs, looks like you may have bought OCDO at 1309 at 10 o'clockish? Still agonising over my WJG investment, it least it keeps going up all the time I do nothing!

by the way T, bought some FEVR yesterday at 1997, only 250 but they are already showing me a £40 profit. Thanks for that.

I,m thinking 1310 minimum today but remain a buyer of them. I am concentrating on WJG (aim) agonising over whether to take profits or let them run to their x divi soon

I also compare it to a horse race, but a horse race where they keep going round and round so you get to decide when to call a halt...preferably when your 'horse' is leading if you can wait that long.
French project is modest but I am doing everything myself, making doors and windows, etc so I am enjoying it and no rush to finish.
I made a really good profit 4 years ago when I started day trading seriously which made me over confident and the obvious happened, helped by CLLN which wiped out my previous years profit. yes, I am retired, I'm 68 and retired fully about 10 years ago. 18 years ago I bought a ruin in Brittany and spend half the year in France completing that project, I do less trading in France. Looking back over last three months, it seems I do about 10 Buys plus 10 sells a month, Looking back 3 years I was doing that in a week and even traded the same share 3 times a day, probably what you are doing. I use a joint account with II (the old TDW) and IG for share ISAs. One ISA for my partner and one for me. I liked the old TDW and keep the account open as it allows me extended settlement. I havent made use of the extended settlement for a year now for various reasons. My plan is to keep growing the ISAs, mostly for tax reasons, the obvious downside is juggling three accounts.
It is more than a hobby as I am effectively investing (gambling.....lets call it what is is) with my pension funds.

I am only a beginner, trying to get out of the repeating my mistakes stage. Yes, I think I understood your IAG explanation to G....in my mind I liken it to reinvestment of dividends only more so. Biggest lesson I've learnt this last year is to use limit trading more, even when I want to buy NOW, I set a limit at slightly better than the offer price iin the spread (sometimes even outside the spread) and often the BUY goes through immediately. Another thing I use is Alerts, I use them a lot all day long, often changing them. This warns me of price shifts especially when I have to be away from the screen. We all have a proper life as well as a trading life after all.

T...I agree with your serious growth prediction for OCDO to such an extent that whenever I have just sold them I get worried about being under invested, so have resolved to buy some extra for a longer term hold. Going back to non-stampy shares, I also deal in CEY and RENE. I have been trading for 40 years but only seriously active for the last 4 or 5. CLLN knocked my confidence (and wallet) quite a lot and TLR also lately. I am more careful now...HA!

Thanks, both FEVR and ASOS are shares on my watchlist. Just looked at my portfolio (classy word for my bundle of tat) and I have holdings in 12 companies at the moment. I think this is about 6 too many, I cant keep focused on so many.

I've been following your conversation for a while now and find it very helpful to me. I keep thinking I need a more disiplined systematic approach to trading to improve on my haphazard results. I suffer from mostly selling too early just a nice rise, like yesterday I sold 1000 OCDO at 1321 whereas they reached 1340+ (although I bought at 1278 but two weeks previous). I was nervous to buy back in but bit the bullet and bought an hour ago at 1329. I like the idea of buying more shares each time (using all the proceeds from a sale) however, I seem to be fixated on round numbers of shares rather than value. I like OCDO and have confidence in their growth so I am happy to hold for longer than my other holdings. One thing that holds me back from more frequent trading is stamp duty so most of my other holdings are in no-stampy shares like Telit, WjG, PLUS500 etc. Anyhow, Thanks again, and I look forward to your "briefing notes".

Sold two thirds of my holding on tuesday but sort of regretted it straight away so I was pleased to buy some back again today as I think they are at a bargain price. Price at Christmas? £6 although I am hoping christmas will come early this year.
