T...although I rebought CINE this morning, I also bought back into PLUS and now have slightly more than 9% more than last thursday. Smug feeling but the process of buy by value rather than by number I find tedious and time consuming but hey ho.
I know someone, a share trader, who doesn't declare their capital gains and has never been pursued for CGT. Their argument is that they pay through stamp duty and that should be enough. I am not in this camp and it surprises me that the trading platforms do not give relevant data to HMRC.
o...yes packaging was an area I examined (and did nowt!). DS Smith i particular. I think recently there has been some consolidation in this sector. Another sector I am keen on is storage, I have had Big Yellow and Loc'n'Store in the past. Thought they would do well (15 years after the americans invented the sector). People have so much big stuff, seasonal stuff and holiday stuff and the size of houses seems to be going down, cheaper than moving to gain more junk space. Seems a no brainer to me. Interesting that Big Yellow is listed as a property company. Could see them spliting ito a REIT and remainder?
m...one of the supermarkets already does sell a package meal of ingredients like you suggest. Can't recall which one.
Hope somebody had a good week, I didn't....that's two downers in a row. aaaAAARRRHH!
Have a great weekend all.
o...the 7 figure sums are disposals so if frequently trading, say £10k, 10 times a week, thats 100k x 52 per annum, or £5m, I was being modest, mine is 8 and a half figures (frequent trader you see). My largest holding today is NCYT at £132K
Have just sold 40% of my MCRO holding, old habits die hard but think I have squeaked past my (now redundant) target.
o....have just had confirmation of getting Parsley box shares. It was about oversubscribed so oly got about a third of what I requested. Opening price will be 200p, probably on 31 March.
V...Sorry haven't got a spare slot in my building schedule, I am with you in spirit though. Like the Americans say about the Canadians..."The Canadians will support us in everyway, right up to , but not including actual help."
Busy re-engineering my sliding garage door, do these jobs never end?
MCRO finding it's feet I see.
Think I might give up on trading for today, Rioja has been breathing for 20 hours now, steak tonight.
m...103 on CINE?, jolly well done, you seem to always get a better price than me, I must try harder.
C is probably the expert but I think there is a IR rule that if you exceed a certain value of disposals, then you have to declare.
Last year my figure was well into 7 figures
T..,.sold CINE at 102.1 for +9%. That's +9% I would't have had if I had't sold my PLUS at a loss. PLUS incidentally are the same price as I sold at. This selling at a loss plays havoc with my weekly targets. Fcuk my weekly targets, it's the portfolio value I have to grow. Ca't believe I hadn't realised this sooner.
Good luck all.
o...looking again at TTG
T....I agree completely. It's strange really, I don't think I ever remember a time when BOTH Covid and 'recovery' stocks have gone down. It is usually one or the other. Needless to say, my portfolio is being hammered. Rule 8 applies I think.
o....sorry to be a traitor to the TTG cause but I sold at 238 for a 6.9% profit. Two reasons, one: I am eager to make some booked profit (ot a very good reason). Two: was selling from my ordinary trading account to get cash to fund a ISA. I remain interested in TTG and may well reinvest.
