Saga SP doing well considering how the other travel companies doing today. Any news?

Just to highlight the canceled routes and retired ships are to do with US and Australia departures and dont really affect UK cruises. However the market reacts as if it is affected:

BanburyBoy dont disagree as Saga sails from Uk and therefore will be less affected than other cruise lines as we are ahead of the curve with regards the pandemic. we also have small ships. Bookings have slipped a little but hopefully all this will be over soon

Royal Carribean reported bad numbers which is affecting cruise companies negatively.
Even though Saga departs from UK and not US. Markets are just crap sometimes

the forward bookings for cruise are well ahead of what they were pre pandemic but there is the caveat of any covid disruption

For 2022/2023 fully expect many cruises to fully book due to pent up demand

Two issues with your calcs mate:

1. Was it the full 175 days in H2?
2. 86% is just what is booked so far for H1 2023. Actual will most probably be higher unless there is covid disruption
3. oh and is it 999 or 998 as i thought they were using a cabin for an inhouse doctor?

So Lucretuis predicted 10 to 15 M profit for second half, which would have been spot on had it not been for the £10 to 15 million in restructuring costs of merging the holiday and cruise businesses. With the other positive forward looking guidance hopefully we get some broker upgrades. But still Jam tomorrow and was dissappointed today

ok BB 3.09 is my prediction

Saga did not budge much today. Most travel companies are up massively today IAG up 7.33%, TUI up 4.88%, Carnival up 5.18%. And ..... Saga up 2.06%. Just feel that tomorrow is going to be a dud. Saga goes down faster than the travel companies and goes up much slower :-(
I hope I am wrong and tomorrows results are stellar. I can't see why the forward guidance for Saga is anything but rosy but I always have been to optomistic about Saga.
