Actually I’m quite surprised that someone who claims to know all about oncoimmunology is so ignorant about what is going on. Especially as a simple search would tell you the answe.

The context of yesterday was your comparison of Covid treatments being researched versus cancer treatments in trial which I said was not a like for like comparison.

Any since you are so keen to establish fact there are 226 cancer vaccine trials in progress...

Evening, hope the steaks were good. Chicken, chips and curry sauce for me - a Friday night tradition going back 45 years! Bottle of Pecorino to wash it down.

I remember Puritas well, he provided some good insights but I can’t shed any light on where he went. I do worry when people just go off the radar, we are all of a certain age.

We all post things that we wish we hadn’t . Mine are often tongue in cheek but when you read them back you wonder 1) do people get the humour and 2) if they do, do they appreciate it?

I disputed this. You’re the one trying to change the topic and saying we think curing cancer is easy, no one is.

Here’s what I think...

There are so many different viruses, cancers, types of vaccine, method of action etc, that there isn’t a gold standard and probably never will be.

There is something called “the gold standard”. I asked you if you know what it is.
Not what I think it is, or you think it is, put actually what it IS. The clue is in the name (“standard”)

You should think carefully about Bermuda’s advice.
The good points you make are often obscured by your poor choice of words. I realise it may not be possible for you to curb your enthusiasm, but when misleading posts are pointed out perhaps you should just try and accept gracefully and apologise?

I did read your post and did get it.
The vast majority of people need a vaccination in order to protect them from Ebola. There are a very small minority who recover or are naturally immune. You could say the same about cancer - all of us produce thousands on mutated (cancerous) cells every day and our immune system mops these us. Cancer occurs when there is a malfunction of the natural immune system.
There are some people with super immunity to cancer. These have been the subject of a recent trial (Nottingham university are one of the six).

My objection was the assertion that cancer immunology is the “gold standard” for all vaccines. I don’t believe it is. Just a Ptolemy believed in a geocentric universe, you believe in an oncology centric medical science world. There are many more diseases, treatments and approaches out there so try and keep an open mind.
