RE: Directors buying shares '2 Sep 2020 21:05
Knowlesi, C7,
Personally, I couldn't care less whether or not directors have put their own cash in. What matters is the skill, expertise and hard work they put in to make the company we are invested in a success.
Many years ago I was in a position to make an enormous contribution to the company I worked in. I had no free cash (2 kids and a mortgage at 15%!) but as an incentive I was given share options. The company IPO'd and I made a lot of money on my shares without forking out a penny. What I did contribute was expertise and a hell of a lot of sweat. The incentive to succeed was the same whether it was my money or not. The difference was, my capital was not at risk, so yes, they are subtly difference.
So as chester and others have said, you need to look at the products, results and financials and decide for yourself whether or not YOU want to invest regardless of whether or not individual bod members have or haven't.
