You are right they do have a place with top companies as these are in a stable phase. They have many years history of sales, profit and dividend, there are enormous share trades, and over time trends can be spotted and forecasts made, charts being a tool to help with this.
Early phase companies, like Scancell, cannot be predicted. Who could have predicted we would go from 6p to 18p in a few weeks? If an RNS drops tomorrow the share price could double - what chart will predict that.
Perhaps there is an element of self fulfilling prophecy buts that’s all.
