My problem is I don’t have enough capital to invest. If I bought £1000 of shares this company would have to double up for me to double my money. Which could take a long time so then I think, is it worth it? Which is probably wrong as profit is profit.

I’ve just taken a quick look. When did you decide to invest in this company?
They’ve only really started to perform in the last few years. There any reason for that in particular? Seem a sound investment though. :)

The upside is that I now have enough capital to ride out up to 50 points. Which should be more than enough one would hope.

I’ve made a limit order at 130.24 (0.1 point before closing price) incase there’s a priced in dip before the potential spike.

I saw a decent amount of profit and it was very jittery so I thought with brexit deal looming il just get out. Wish I hadn’t now, so thought I need to get back in ASAP.
I think I just got too excited at the profit and was too scared of losing it without really thinking about it. Before Covid I was in a trade and left it too late and didn’t make any profit so didn’t want to make the same mistake.

I wouldn’t trust anything that happens on the weekend. I think when normal ftse opens at 11 we may know a little more after a few hours. Il be setting up my trade at 07:58 waiting for the bell to ring to see if I can get in somewhere not too high.

Money in Malta. It’s was just a speculation, It seems that it will open higher though based on trades after hours.

Onlyone and steady money. I agree with vaccine authorisations and also any potential side effects that are yet to be known.
I just think the trade deal situation has a major hold and casts doubt on people buying. I don’t think it’s a case of ‘no deal’ and it’s game over but I definitely think it’s pulling back the sp.
Whichever way it goes I think everybody will just be happy it’s done so the recovery can start.

Don’t have the link but telegraph have released their latest piece on the brexit deal. Phone call between B.J and EU is still ongoing and down to the three issue we know of level plying field, governance and fisheries. Just something that is really holding it up. I think it may be another week before a potential deal is reached.

I mean in terms of profit making. A 10k investment buying physical stock would mean rolls would have to hit 260 for me to double my money. It’s a lot of money don’t get me wrong but this was my reasoning for going along the lines of spread betting. More risk in terms of losing my investment but more reward of my £ per pips is large enough. Say £200 a pip.

I think I may have to wait for the market to open Monday and buy in. I don’t like buying in when the markets closed due to slippage. Rarely works in the traders favour imo.
Have you been eyeing on other potential investments over the weekend or are you solely committed to rolls now?

I did try and get in before the bell rang but had no coverage where I’m working so didn’t execute. I’m not a full time trader by any means. I saw uncertainty at 130 and decided I’d take my profit based on brexit deal being put back. Friday evening seemed to release a lot of decent news so hence why I wanted to get back on.
Il just have to wait until Monday on opening to see a chance of catching a potential dip somewhere close to 130 of it opens higher.
We shall see.

Buying over the weekend will be creating a stop order so if you buy now and it opens up at 150. You will be executed at 150. So bare in mind it could spike and pull back Monday morning leaving you in a deficit. Something I’ve had to consider as I cashed out Friday and regretted it.
I’m tempted to wait till Monday morning opening and get on it.

Here’s to praying my limit order goes live on Monday morning. So hard doing this whilst working full time.

An instant regret as wanting to get straight back in. I even rang ig and asked if they would reinstate my trade but no such luck.
I’ve now got 10k to re invest, I can earn more by spreadbet 200 a point with stop loss at 50 points below my execution price (which is what I was in previously) or just buy a physical stock.
Just curious as to what would you do?

That’s the biggest buy ins I’ve seen a while that’s for sure. Something tells me that’s not right though.

I didn’t have a target in mind and that’s a big case of inexperience. I didn’t this on another trade and never took profit and just broke even so learnt my lesson. So this time I saw today market was uncertain and just decided to take it when it pretty much at its highest. But as you said, I’m now eager to get back in. May have to wait for a dip at some point if it happens.

Too much slippage to buy in over the weekend?

Can’t buy in over the weekend either as it never fulfils that position. Too much slippage.

It was up yesterday after the close and we thought it may open up at 140 but nothing really happened today.
Now I think the markets very uncertain and just waiting for the announcement. I cashed out today with a nice profit (for me anyway) but now I wish I hadn’t.

Looks to be a carbon copy of yesterday/today so no reason why it couldn’t be the same tomorrow really. Only way I see it is if there is a surge of profit takers and sellers which seems unlikely now.

Seems to me there will be traders looking to piggy back this now to 150 and take the profit.

I set my stop at 128 earlier but now I’m debating wether to take it off. Worst thing I’d be afraid of is cutting me out the trade and then I can’t get back on it.
I ok ver the pond looks decent but could always have that retrace in the morning due to profit taking.
