I do not have any to sell. I simply do not want to see the long suffering TRIN shareholders bounced into TXP with all its problems, problems that should have been apparent to the TRIN BoD before they were highlighted by the recent falls in the TXP share price.

Does the geology suggest ongoing jam to you? I suspect that most TRIN investors have had enough of Trinidad.

If. Exactly. And even if they do, will they need recompleting in significantly less than a year to temporarily arrest ferocious declines? Frying pan/fire.

Do you honestly believe that the applicable law and regulation would allow the majority of TRIN shareholders to be bounced into a demonstrably bad deal against their will? Even worse, perhaps, is that what you actually want to happen?

Remind us - why was TXP production up in July over June? TRIN and TXP are both companies that have disappointed. It could be out of the frying pan and into the fire for TRIN shareholders. The great thing is that now they will, come September (if TXP stick to their timing…), have a better idea what they would be getting into with TXP and will be able to make better informed decisions.

Ab76’s rationale makes even less sense than you might think. The last couple of years have undoubtedly revealed TRIN to be a victim of bad management and strategy but they have also revealed it to be little more than the classic AIM value trap. Even adjusting for its awful BoD, TRIN’s fundamentals have been on a bad trajectory. Ab76 has a take on TRIN’s assets that is now outdated to say the least - he still sees TRIN as some kind of diamond in the rough just needing a polish to shine, even if this is as part of a combined entity. He is wrong, but he is also failing to see that potential partner TXP is a risky proposition that has been on its own bad trajectory. It is sad to see him striving this hard to block a half-decent cash exit for other long suffering TRIN shareholders, particularly in this wobbly market.

The old management had very significant personal shareholdings, but these guys have been very slow to put their hands in their well remunerated pockets to align with retail shareholders. “A big red flag that was”, Yoda might say.

Nice of them to pop up with a kick in the teeth ahead of the quarterly update.

I think everyone realises that they will finally write off the lower levels in the next update. The question is whether they have moved on to production testing the shallows. Their previous glacial pace suggests they may not have. That would not be well received.

Yes, with WTI firming you can feel the impetus for a confrontation with this awful BoD beginning to fade. A real pity. The share price may respond somewhat to an improved climate for oilers but a significant recovery is not possible here without a change of strategy, something that is just not going to happen unless these characters see us coming for their salaries. Ab76 could have made that happen but he chose not to.

Could happen, I suppose, the shareholders do seem quite unbelievably complacent. But how disconnected is the valuation really? As I said before, look at recent annual and interim accounts for a better idea of the profitability and trajectory here and what the market is getting at with the current share price.
