Personally I think the high energy prices that would create would be the nail in the United States coffin, with a few worthless dollars sticking out of the side of it.

However, as I write that I realise they stole Venezuela didn’t they, so they probably don’t care for higher energy prices anymore.

Has to be another attempt to shake out some shares. Oil at $71 and the falklands looking like a gold mine there has to be a deal done soon.

I see things slowing from here. House builders are starting to show signs of slowing, BOE will cut rates next meeting which will take a slice out of Barcs margins. (Although stimulate to some extent)

And I see the buy backs over a proper increase in dividend as a sign that Barcs see it pulling back aswell.

And there’s the fact there’s Too many political risks that make Barclays look a safe bet right now.

There does seem to be some decent buys rolling through on the quiet,lately.

Hourly chart looks a bit bearish. 20day SMA giving support at 476 but looking like it wants to break through it.

Buy backs and results should limit and real down side but I wouldn’t be surprised to see 470 by close.

Personally I think banks have become to risky and the markets have baked in all these good results and huge buy back programmes.

Geopolitical tensions, potential elections, and a slowing economy all make me think there’s more downside than upside here..

Starmer looking like he’s coming under pressure to resign again. I think that will weigh on banks more than anything

Results should be positive, there’s a lot of buy backs to commence again next week, then the next meeting for the BOE is likely to be a rate cut and prop everything up a little longer… short term bullish mid/long term very bearish…
