How come at £3.60?

If they need the money why not buy them out now for around £1.5B and cancel all the shares leaving an absolutely astronomical dividend?

Does it not seem curious to anyone that the notes raised are exactly around that amount? 10-20% premium to todays price?

If we were being sensible we would reduce the divi to stay in line with current % and use the extra £600m we would have paid to BASF over the next 3 years to pay towards the notes/bonds whatever they are at maturity date.

I’ve opened a short today at 375, short term will get £3.50 support and if that falls then back to £3. Upside is £4 but that’s a major resistance to break through.

I’m in construction industry and the housing market is desperate for stimulus, banks are over lending again and to riskier and riskier clients. All the same patterns as 2008…

Surely if the city liked the idea, they could get a syndicate of lenders/investors to take up some new long-dated bonds in orer to buy out the BASF stake? This would avoid putting a big dent in existing cash resources

This is what I’ve been saying, is this not what they have done with the notes in the latest results? I genuinely don’t know, but it looks like they have raised £1.8B in notes and that has pushed the cash pile up to £2.7B ready to tackle the BASF situation.

I really don’t know enough about notes or bonds etc so I’m asking to hear other people’s thoughts on this.

The buy backs after ex divi is the main reason why I bought back in, hopefully it’s a free divi and the buy backs support and push the sp back up.

Charts look good, and 250 in the short term is the next target.

I did, and bought Back at 225. Hovered over the sell yesterday but notice the charts still look bullish.

That still doesn’t change the fact about notes? Why have they raised $1.8B?

With that $1.8B raised by notes could that be to buy BASF out?

This share has gone from 1.40 to £3.70 in 18 months.

What has changed in Barclays to warrant such a rise? All I’m seeing is the same mistakes of overlending like pre 2008 being repeated.

I have always been negative on Barclays and banks in general because I see how corrupt and false the whole system is, but this is starting to look like an amazing opportunity for a big short.

LTT completely different environment, I’ve said many times RKH took that out of desperation when no one was touching oil. It’s a totally different outlook now and the green agenda is collapsing. This is a reason why I always preferred BOR to RKH.

BOR won’t sell out for a deal like that, and Harry and co have shown they are more than willing to keep pumping their own money at this until someone pays the price tag.

I can’t get my head around it. For me harbour should be £3 -£4 plus on the latest results.

Apart from a heavier capex in H2 that looks to have already been covered in the fcf projection which brings our fcf from $1.365B (ish) to $1B

As 1.1B capex was covered in H1 and leaves 1.4B Of the $2.5B 2025 capex to be covered in H2.

If this is already covered in the fcf projection then we pretty much tread water for the remainder of the year? Maybe around $120M down at current prices which would still leave the year at $880m FCF.

So at current levels debt could increase marginally by year end.

So we paid a nice chunk off the debt, but with $0.9 of subordinate notes and $0.9B of senior notes that looks like it’s been added to the cash pile which makes it look like we have 2.7B in cash?

I actually agree rumble, but I think for that we would retain some equity in future production as that just covers money already spent on Darwin. £350m is around 40p a share which i would be over the moon with, but the BOD can’t spin that as a success without a slice of future production no matter how small, 5-10% would be my guess.

Without getting carried away without an appraisal I don’t think we can command much more just yet.

The BOD can cover historic costs, secure a future percentage of Darwin production, and then look to farm in again for other prospects and use cash and a higher share price to raise more capital and go again on other prospects that are low risk like Darwin?

Excuse my stupidity, but has HBR paid down debt by using FCF but increased cash through the issuance of new sub and senior notes that are not payable until 2028?

Is the net debt of $3.6B including the latest notes issued? Or are notes not shown as debt on the balance sheet and actually debt would be $5.4?

I’m almost trying to find some negatives here to justify why this share does not maintain a value anywhere near its competitors.

The reduction in net debt was driven by the free cash flow generated in the period and net cash from the issuance and repayment of subordinated notes partially offset by the impact of foreign exchange differences due to the weaker US dollar.

We have pre-funded our near-term debt maturities out to 2028. Our investment grade rating was reaffirmed by Moody's (Baa2) and Fitch (BBB-) during the period. Available liquidity, being undrawn revolving credit facility (RCF) of $3.0 billion net of letters of credit drawn of $0.6 billion, plus cash balances of $2.7 billion, was $5.1 billion at the end of the period, compared with $1.9 billion at year end 2024.

Where did HBR go from around $800m cash to $2.7B? Was that just cash sat on the balance sheet of wintershell?

Hbr loves a good share buy back while its owners slip out the exit.

Well I’m primed to buy back in after gapping 20p from this morning. One thing I’ve learned is don’t rush with hbr, she never fails to drop further than logically possible
