Looks like the Rolls Royce Airways has well and taken off now and heading above the clouds to the sunny space and onto another great destination (maybe £13 by the end of this week?)
Flying Hours should remain unaffected as Operators keep switching routes from Short Haul to Long Haul to save fuel and follow alternative routes around the ME conflict zone. SMR continues to bring good news as MoU's are getting drawn up and agreements made in due course. Defence is steady and holding up commitments on delivery and budgets are being increased by Governments around the globe. Power Systems going well too.
Its nothing we dont really know already, but good reinforcement of what is to come.
Just looked back 12 months to see where the SP was on 1st May 2025 and it was sat at 767p..!
Now before anyone jumps on me, we know past performance means nothing and is no indication of future direction, but what a journey its been and safe to say even hitting the heights of 767p 12 months was a huge achievement by RR.
The momentum of the Business over that time and the following by all of the solid plans put in place by Turbo Tufan and his team have consistently delivered results for the each Sector and Teams and the focussed all the Management Teams below the ELT to drive to except nothing but the best from their own teams and staff.
Would be great to see the SP rise above £12 by the end of today, but I suspect it may take a few days into this month to shift gear. GLA DYOR.
We've seen it bust through the 1200p barrier twice today.....this is great news and I'm hoping its not just because of the todays reaffirmation of previous guidance by RR..... but Investors getting behind the Brand once again.
We already toyed with this similar idea in the late 90s and developed the TP400 Engine which a Prop Fan Engine used in Military Applications for Airbus - this Engine was launched in the mid 2000's from memory.
There was another design that was researched into by RR that was a Contra-Rotating Open Fan Blade Type Engine (for A320 applications about 10 years ago)- but I have no idea what happened to that - I'm guessing too bloody loud...!
Safran's initiative and their design will no way be comparable to the UltraFan type design (which has Engineering built up over the various iterations of all the Trent family) in terms of fuel efficiency or longevity.
Let me just check where I actually disagreed with what was said by the BoE Deputy......... nope, I cant find that I did.
My disagreement is with the BoE giving out such a statement and offering no ideas on how we should cope or avert it....and it being slightly out of the norm for them to comment.
I don't think I really need to spell out that the BoE has a primary role to maintain Financial stability across all of the Banking Sector in the UK and making sure the Country and Financial Institutions are in working within limitations, to correct auditable processes and carry out the odd Financial Stress Test every now and again, to see if the system can cope.
Issuing out comments or statements about Risk in the Markets is something as Investors we live and breathe day in and day out. If there is a shock to the system then the Markets will either swallow it up, overcome it and maintain resilience, or set off a chain reactions of events and suffer for a while.
There was absolutely no guidance in the Statement to say what should be done right now about it, or what may be coming at us down the line and what we need to do now to avoid or plan ahead for. All that was stressed was that they are worried about Private Credit and if an adjustment is coming.
On one hand the Government want people with money to invest in Stocks & Shares and on the other hand the BoE are saying it might not be a good time and that its nothing to do with events in the Middle East too.
It was an extremely sophisticated and well scoped out comment from the Bank Of England Deputy, it must have been very enlightening for this lady to reach such a dramatic conclusion.......and then go to the trouble of being interviewed by BBC News and then shared with the wider population,
I feel we are all slightly better off in the knowledge of hearing this statement and I bet the Markets cant wait to see what amazing direction of travel guidance she contributes next.
If you have bothered to read this far, I must apologise for my attempt at sarcasm and hope no one has thought I was being serious.
I have complete confidence in Tufan and what he has done/ doing for the Business. His incentives are not selfish like so many CEO's who say one thing and do another (most of them just care about the money they get, but there are some good eggs out there)
Tufan when he first joined RR was almost getting paid pretty much nothing for a top CEO (£1.2M ish) but did get a whole leap of Shares (about £ 7.5 M worth) which have climbed astronomically as we all know over his tenure so far (plus his recent £18M pay packet award will be very much welcomed)
I cant tell you that his no.1 priority is 'Safety' across all the Businesses, he gets very worked up about this and drums it into us how important it is to look after ourselves and each other and to go home alive at the end of the day. The rest of the things he tasks us to focus on are the usual things you find in any Business ( Delivery, Cost, Strategy, Teamwork etc etc)
This guy however cannot do much about the Global situation around us right now, but as soon the political crisis resolves itself he will ensure the Business gets back to achieve the guidance that we have set out and hitting those target
Howdy - Im a fellow car nutter (sorry those who dont) and have another 2 years to go until my already Classic Beemer (e28) joins the ranks of the old but gold brigade. Sirocco's were so understated back in the day (eclipsed slightly by the demands for Golf's) but I loved them , I had 2 of them but sadly let them go . Honda were extremely helpful to the Rover Group in Longbridge during the 80/90s and supporting them with common platform engineering and engines....but alas the Unionised mentality broke the company in the end as they didnt want to adopt modern working practices....and then the BMW selling off to the Phoenix Group was the death blow.
Sad to see the Automotive Industry decline during the early to mid 2000's - but too much competition from abroad and expectation that the UK Government would keep bailing out failing buisnesses.
Where are all the 'Cool Heads' .....?22 Apr 2026 12:07
Fellow Investors.....despite all the madness home and abroad that is making our hearts beat a little faster and raising blood pressure im sure for some of us....! Please keep cool heads and think of the long term game (if you are LTH thats an easy thought) - if you are in it for day to day or short then fine the wind blows a little harder some days then others.
Rolls Royce will prevail and power through these bumpy times, if you think that its time to get out and quit on the stock then great go for it.....or buying in now at this low point may bear great fruit in a few months.
I offer no insight into why the price is falling/ so low.....but if there is one thing that i've seen over the years and more recently is RR is resilient and diverse enough to fight back and will get the share price back up .
The world events will dictate a lot for a while yet.... and its not easy to second guess, but im staying in the hunt and keeping the faith.
Now that its a bit happier....lets keep fingers and toes crossed that the ceasefire holds up for enough time to allow the Large Vessels and other ship to pass through the Straits (I fear that Iran will be keen to get their own cargo/ liquids pass this point also, but Israel ma have other ideas)
Once enough boat activity has occurred on all sides , who knows which side will press the button and commence hostilities once more.....but lets stay positive.!
Thank you and I've worked in Derby, Ansty, Warwick, Bristol (worked in Civil, Defence, Oil & Gas, & NPI & MRO Sectors) not been into Nuclear yet but never say never and have plenty of contacts in them all.
Good Morning All - after many years of pondering I've decided to join this chat group as it gives me great insight into the investments I have made in RR Shares over the years (working in various sectors of RR for well over 20 years now). SO many characters on here and a wide variety of views and backgrounds.
The information I have gained/ digested in recent years has been great and kept me invested even in the gloomy times, along with the banter and various perspectives of other investors has made me smile no end (pls keep it going).
Anyways - enough about me and I'm just glad to be aboard the Good Ship Rycey and join in with you all on this journey.....!
