Just a quick one, looking to buy some for the divi income and have filled in the W8 BEN form. What are the US tax implications? How do they affect the dividend? Thanks in anticipation.

I guess once they are bored of blocking entrances to motorways and fuel tankers they have to find some other way of annoying people!

What has happened?

In December 2022, we wrote to all holders of Nu-Oil and Gas plc shares, letting them know that the company had announced its intention to consolidate its share capital. Under the terms of the Consolidation, every 40 shares held were to be consolidated into 1 new share. Further to this, Nu-Oil and Gas plc was to be renamed as Guardian Global Security Plc.

The proposed name change has completed, and your portfolio has been updated to reflect this change.

However, following a number of extensions to the effective date, the company has now elected to cancel the consolidation.

I hope that the Georgian press have been made aware of the fact that Zaza has been proven to be a criminal by the US courts and potentially faces a jail sentence should he return. The Georgian business community and politicians should surely be made aware of this..

Hi Paul, thanks to you and all the others that responded to this thread, it’s really given me some food for thought. I ended up taking the profit above the original £5k investment £1.5k. So I sold nearly 700 shares and kept around 2,200. Did the same with Lgen. Will leave now long term for dividends. I was very lucky to get in at such low prices. Looking now for April’s Isa.

If our base rate increases tomorrow is the share price here likely to increase ?

Thanks for response Thronegames. Won’t be trading as such. Just seemed to be too much profit in such a short time to be ignored. The remainder will stay for the long term returns and the profits reinvested. Cheers.

Nice idea and thanks for response, I was impatient and have taken the profit and left the 5k in, did the same with lgen that I bought at the same time. 2.2k to spend on more divi shares, wish I was that lucky more often. Bought Lloyds also, may try your idea with that one as is currently nearly 10% up, will wait a bit longer.

Started buying dividend shares last week , £5k of these at £1.71. Showing a 30% profit, dilemma is sell the lot or just take the profit now as will take a good few years to make that much from the divi’s. Inclined to do the latter as better in cash than on paper. Not used to having to make these decisions. Not seeking advice so much as ideas.
