They said it on the trading update that cable theft was not the problem but lack of spare parts for trains. I am just quoting what the company said and surely they would know more than we do in the UK
Diamond man there has only been 1 case of cable theft this year in South Africa. The problem is getting spare parts for trains.
He said his fund was short on Enq
Truthsayer Russia has had good political leaders for 20 years ffs. Putin has a 1/2 billion £ super yacht and is rumoured to be worth £200 billion. Numerous oligarchs have bled the country dry. Only 7% of Russian people have a passport and 20% have no running water. The Rouble is so strong that they are getting less (in foreign currency terms) for their oil and gas. The pipelines do not exist to be able to reroute the gas to anywhere bar Europe. Putin has put Russia back decades.
Save produce gas and oil in Africa. Any supply to Europe is many years away.
Is that not $8.4 million ebita on 800 tons
Many companies (including British) traded with South Africa right through sanctions. The business world did not have a huge conscious when it came to apartheid.
So why has Russia invaded so many of the surrounding countries and installed puppet governments. Hitler spoke of peace before the outbreak of world war 2
If all the people of the Donbas and Crimea wanted to be under Russian control they could have done it democratically. The vast majority of the people who left the region when the war started headed towards Europe with very few going to Russia. The cities of the region are in ruins with no running water or electricity. I think Russia’s aim was to drive the population out as where will they now live with billions needed to be spent to bring the infrastructure back up to scratch. If you want to speak only Russian and live under a Russian government then move back there.
Jonharris there are not many situations when shorts struggle to close
What a wasted opportunity mainly down to politics (spare parts order procurement ) hopefully this has been sorted. They shipped 70 million tons during covid.
The question was asked and the answer was it is immaterial due to the oversupply caused by export problems
Cable theft no longer a problem. It is down to political interference in the procurement of spares causing the problem ffs. Whenever politicians get involved problems arise.
It says cash not gross profit
Transnet is going downhill fast and it is not going to get better anytime soon. Miners already using trucks for coal so roads will be heavily congested and ruined. Full year they should have a billion in cash so buy something else as well.
Something has spooked the market as volume is low. I will watch from the sidelines
They have not said they have converted the GDR to ordinary shares yet but even if they have the dividends go into a special account set up for JRS
