RE: Green hydrogen for ammonia fertiliser trial3 Jul 2020 09:54
In August 2019, Yara International A.S.A. and Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser, a subsidiary of Nel A.S.A., entered into a joint agreement for the manufacture of low-carbon footprint fertilizer. The Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway and Enova funded this project via the PILOT-E programme.
The type segment includes nitrogen stabilizers, coated & encapsulated, and slow-release. The nitrogen stabilizers segment is forecasted to dominate the market with the largest share globally because of its widespread adoption, viable purchase price and the non-agricultural use of urease inhibitors & nitrification inhibitors in developing countries. However, the slow–release segment is anticipated to grow the quickest during the forecast era due to its effectiveness in warm regions like the Mediterranean and South-West U.S.A. The application method segment includes fertigation, foliar application, soil, and others. The fertigation segment is expected to hold the largest share of the market thanks to reduced labour costs and reduced time. This technique increases efficiency by mixing the fertilizer directly with irrigation water itself. The end-use segment includes agriculture and non-agriculture. The non-agriculture sub-segment is projected to dominate the market with the largest market share as the use of controlled-release fertilizers on ornamentals and turf has been high in the U.S. and Europe. The demand is increasing due to many properties provided by these fertilizers.
