Sharecast News) - British Airways owner IAG on Thursday more than doubled annual profit as demand continued to rebound from the effects of the Covid pandemic.
Operating profit before exceptional items for the year to December 31 came in at €3.5bn compared with 2022's €1.24bn and the pre-pandemic figure of €3.25bn.

Dead right , ive actually done just that , held IAG , bought abd sold Wizz and jet 2 (in and now out) As i mentioned earlier this is rising towards a decent point where a 20% rise in good results would put us back into new teritories .
My concern was if the continued to drop a 20% gain wouldnt do that.
Luckiy fir me I bought additional shares af 142.8 yesterday so brought my average down to 151 with a 120k holding .
Im reasonsbly comfortable with that

Your optimism is admirable but Im a realist i too believe theres a substantial upside potential. But in saying that if the next set of results don't prove to be a catalyst im not sure how long it will take to see a substantial rise.
Im more than happy to sit it out but as each weej goes by the % increase required to obtain the £2 mark becomes greater and greater
Very frustrated with IAG couid have bern out of tfdm at the start of the year, bought into any othef airline and made a 20% profit and bought back into them at a discount. Crazy.
The results af the end of the month better show some promise or thats me done with them

I think airports using the new scanning system at security will have an impact on there sales. Max 2 litres of fluid can be taken through security now . They make a fortune on meal deals and drinks at Airports
There are persistent posterx ramping and deramping.
Youre right sbout those continually buying tranches. All i can adsume is that a "tranche: must be around £1000 worth . Afted dippinv in and out to reduce my average I have quite a few at pesent and intend to hold. I genuinely belive we are out of the woods they will be substantially higher by the end of the year
LONDON, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Wizz Air reported a bigger third-quarter operating loss on Thursday, as the budget carrier grapples with the effects of engine inspections that have grounded parts of its fleet and the suspension of flights due to the Middle East conflict.
The airline, however, maintained its fiscal 2024 net income expectations after a positive start to its fourth quarter ending March.
European airlines have continued to report strong results on the back of unrelenting travel demand, but the outlook is murky due to geopolitical instability, rising jet fuel costs and economic uncertainty.
Wizz Air was also one of the main airlines hit by issues with RTX engines and had said it would face a capacity reduction as a result.
The 180 million euros ($196 million) operating loss in Wizz Air's third quarter, which ended on Dec. 31, was larger than last year's third quarter loss of 155 million euros, driven by the cancellations of flights.
"While financial performance in the last quarter was materially affected by the suspension and reallocation of Israel capacity, we maintain our expectations for F24 net income," Chief Executive Jozsef Varadi said in a statement.
