elland, COP will obviously be very keen to add proven reserves to maximise the pipe line utilisation, and ONHYM will want to maximise revenues. Could you envisage a deal being done directly between them or will this need to go through an open permit auction? Extract from Gulfsands Website: Rharb contract. A ten month extension to the Rharb exploration contract was granted by ONHYM in January 2015 extending the licence period to 9 November 2015. The contract governs the Rharb Centre and Rharb Sud permits. During H1 2015, Gulfsands completed the drilling and testing of its fifth and sixth biogenic gas exploration wells in the Rharb Centre permit area, at the Dardara South East location ("DRC-1") and the Douar Ouled Balkhair location ("DOB-1") respectively. Both wells proved to be gas discoveries, and both were completed and then suspended as future gas production wells. The Group has additionally been working with its partner, ONHYM, on strategies to commercialise the discoveries made. Following the drilling and completion of DOB-1 in H1 2015, Gulfsands now has three remaining wells to drill across the Rharb concession (inclusive of both Rharb Centre and Sud permits) to meet work obligation commitments by the end of the licence period on 9 November 2015. The Group is in discussions with ONHYM with regards to re-scheduling these work obligations. In parallel, the Group is considering options for funding this work programme and the development of discoveries which may include bringing in industry partners and an active farm-out process is underway.
http://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2015/11/171957/gas-exploration-in-morocco-19-of-22-test-wells-indicate-positive-results/ Taroudante – Amina Benkhadra, the director of Morocco’s Office of Hydrocarbons and Mining (ONHYM), announced on Thursday in Dar El Gueddari that the drilling program at the Gharb-Chrarda-Beni Hssen region has been successful with 19 out of 22 wells drilled testing positive for natural gas. “This campaign has been very promising since 19 out of the 22 wells drilled were considered positive,” she told MAP, during a visit to the site CGD-13 wells, organized by ONHYM and its partner, Ireland-based Circle Oil. “Although these gas discoveries are small, they can power the industry of the region,” Benkhadra said. The Director of ONHYM said that the eight-year partnership agreement signed between the ONHYM and Circle Oil will end soon, but noted that a new agreement will be negotiated to continue research, exploration and well drilling in order to advance development of the region. Benkhadra said that the company, “has conducted geological studies and 2D seismic and 3D seismic tests over the past several years.” CEO of Circle Oil, Mitch Flegg, highlighted the encouraging results of his company’s drilling campaign, touting the absence of major incidents and environmental impacts. “We will now connect the gas to our pipeline in Kenitra, and will sell it directly to the end user,” said Flegg, adding that Circle Oil plans to return next year to commence the drilling of several wells. “We would like to thank our partner, ONHYM, for its continued support of the development of our Moroccan permits. Morocco remains at the core of Circle’s business and we are looking forward to developing our next drilling campaign,” Flegg added. The recent positive results from the exploratory wells are encouraging signs that Morocco is likely to be a gas producer in the near future.
Rob, Thank you for your questions: FOGL and Noble work closely together in accordance with their partnership agreement, but there are many areas which affect commerciality of hydrocarbons in new basins. Once there is more information from the logs from the well, the partners will be in a much better position to advise shareholders as to how it will impact further prospectivity in the licence area Best Ed (fticonsulting.com) Questions regarding Humpback drill RNS As a shareholder in FOGL, please can you answer the following questions: - Have FOGL been told by Noble exactly why Humpback currently not deemed to be commercially viable? - If so, how and when will you advise the FOGL Shareholders? - Have Noble not told FOGL, or told FOGL not to communicate any further info? - Have the FIG been told any more details? - Will the results be analysed / assessed by Noble and FOGL together or seperately?
updated just recently? Quite like the new layout, but haven't had time for much of a look around. Some of the Regulatory News page functionality not working for me - can't search documents. Also thought good interview from Mitch. Disappointed with share price reaction so far, but hopefully as said, it will take off from here.
I presume now that the drilling campaign is concluded, there is nothing to prevent director share buys - would obviously also send out a positive message.
Thanks stockdale. Yes, maybe things are starting to look up. Positive finish to current drill compaign. Various contracts re-negotiated and cost reductions implemented. Frustration as to why Circle are so unloved by the City when as was said we are producing and profitable. Hopefully some hints next week as to next steps: Tunisia / Gulfsands / potential M&As / others. Does anyone know when the Tip TV interview will broadcast?
Long term holder of 50k shares in COP. Been following LSE chat since last year, but just signed up today. As a non-oily, always interesting to read the views of the regulars – (elland / stockdale et al). Very disappointed with the share price reaction after the positive results from the KSR-A and CGD-13 wells. I assume these must be 2 relatively small discoveries. Is there likely to be a CPR Reserve Update soon or other announcement advising how much additional gas has been discovered? Hoping Mitch Flegg can take the opportunity on TipTV next week and start the turn-around in sentiment!
