Im also sitting on a big loss, glad i didnt sell Friday, was a tad preoccupied as the mrs ( that left me over xmas) came round to pick up more stuff....... mmmmmmm not the sort of thing to help your mental state ( no job , i was her carer, no mrs, and now very little cash,, funny how life can really kick you in the ....... at times but im going to sell, at least then ill have some cash to get on with, sodds law if i sell itll go to ten pence or more, usually the way, if anyone has good cv writing experience ( or knows someone who can help ), can they somehow let me know here, id really appreciate it.
the 3 day week only affected commercial operations , and to be fair our productivity was so bad then , did it really matter , also it only lasted a month so really it wasnt as bad it was made out to be,in general chit/chat pub gossip terms, effects of Brexit have given us more uncertainty... (first bit fact second bit just my opinion)
Roll on the next positive RNS
Perhaps i am being to simplistic , but as everybody is banging on about low oil /fuel prices surely any venture, cash rich would over buy today and just store the fuel for the next 12mths, as i say perhaps to simple a solution.
Not here to fight btw , but served in local government so well aware politicians lie, Germany for eg, largest union in Germany is IG Metal , the metal workers union, having been a member of that Union , i know its power, not mentioning VW connection to german government, there would be hell to pay if shifts were shut down and overtime lost due to tariffs yes trade goes on , business goes on , but it obviously makes things more difficult, final point and again i could be wrong , but TCG is struggling isnt it, of course for many reasons perhaps.
However for the record I voted leave, and as you say GLA
(So why are people worrying about tariffs) , im not sure but it could be that tariffs mean more cost, less money, political instability and an unhappy nation, i think with less overtime and less disposable income Holidays for any worker in any country are probably not 1st on peoples minds.
Of course I could be just like every other person who posts on here, (with just an opinion) and are happy to believe ours is right.
Its all ****** anyway, all we are here for one reason alone,
Hi lancis,
I think to add that 50 percent of vets registered with RCVS are female and a lot already work p/t , so that doesnt surprise me, but who responded and said they were thinking of leaving ? id imagine it was vets in the 55-70 age bracket, unless you know different....
RCVS is a good source of info , should tell you whether vet numbers active, are increasing or decreasing, also im pretty sure the average age for m+f vets is on the 40yr bracket
Easy enough also to check how many vets graduate each year as far as i know the numbers pretty static, a lot of corporates have moved into areas where theres already an established vet and they are driving the pricing down through buying groups etc.
Interesting times ahead for sure......
Fair comment i suppose , but with industry knowledge, if a potential PI thought Everything was rosy within the Small Animal market, at least they now have a littleeee bit more knowledge of the ins and outs
Good luck to all invested here
Profitability will be a struggle in certain areas, ill give you a recent personal experience, our domestic moggy with an ear infection, consult fee inc vat 37, family run practice, and no competition around from corporate, sounds ok sofar........
Vet recommended ear drop which from there are 21 quid with the vat......mmmmm i thought thats flippin dear, off to the www and bought the same for a tenner delivered ( where practices struggle is that to sell dear pharmaceuticals, they no-longer have the monopoly), you just take your vet prescription onto the web and buy the cheapest you can
All being said, im still in here for 20K and i hope results are good
No expert-just my opinion
Snige, I love this post, if they are short of Vets, try paying a better wage than a head nurse can get, and it will solve the problem, again eu vets from such as Portugal and Spain , earning believe it or not there 900 Euros p/m , obv when they come here they will settle for aound 25k max, there are i think 5 vet universities pushing out around 600 new vets p/a, no shortage of vets , just corporates not wanting to pay a decent wage......all director speak for b_llo_cks just my opinion, but fact all the same, im still invested here........
Sorry off topic, all the best to all invested here still and good luck
