two of my buys this morning are showing as sells

When you buy or sell stock from/to a market maker, the transaction is reported to the stock exchange. Each transaction is, of course, both buy and sell.
You are the buyer or seller, and the market maker is the other party in the transaction. However, only one trade report is required. The transaction reports are published by the stock exchange with a trade type of O. The data level you mention attempts to list these transactions as buys or sells, based upon a devised a guesstimate system - if a transaction is executed at a price above the mid-price, it is placed into the buy column. If executed below the mid-price it is placed in the sell column.
I think this is why you may see this particular data as a sale, as they use the spread at the time to ‘estimate’ as to whether it was a buy or a sell, and guessed that it was a sell.
interesting the point they make
Fr0m 2023 Mercedes aim to reclaim 96% of all battery cell resources recouping lithium nickel and cobalt in a circular production system, other automotive manufacturers are following similar paths
any idea why the sudden drop today in sp?
Hi Degrasse,
I wonder if you can help me, I have contacted IG to get L3 access and they advise me only L2 is available. I advised that people in the group were using it with L3 access and he advised me if you can send a screenshot of the L3 access he will be able to see what exchange it's linked to and can enable for me, but as far as he knows IG is only L2 access.
Please if you can help i would apricate it.
see below from the IG advisor.
L2 is something you will need to request for as well which can be provided. Let me have the L3 access checked for you, bare with me please while I have this checked
Apologies for the wait again. Unfortunately we do not provide Level 3 access. We only provide Level 2 access
Level 3 is not available on IG, We have Level 1 and Level 2 access at IG.
Please ask your contact to send a screenshot of L3 access, we can determine what exchange it is linked to and have it enabled for you.
Level I quotes provide basic price data for a security, including the best bid and ask price + size on each side.
Level II quotes provide more information than level I quotes by adding market depth. Level II typically shows up to the 5-10 best bid and offer prices.
Level III quotes add greater market depth by providing up to 20 of the best bid and ask prices. Users, primarily brokers and market makers, can also input data directly.
