5 Minute Interview
Part 1
On 16th December 2019 FG gave an interview with Andrew Scott of Proactive Investors about “Clear Leisure to launch ‘digital twins’ projects for London & Milan.”
The following is a transcript that I have taken which is as accurate as possible.
Please note this is Copyright with Proactive Investors.
AS: With me this morning from Clear Leisure I am joined by Francesco Gardin, Francesco, good to see you, good morning.
FG: Good morning, to see you again.
AS: Tell me about these two new business initiatives that you have announced this morning, it sounds quite interesting; tell me a bit more about what’s involved?
FG: Basically we have been holding this small minority in this company which has unique technology, they developed a platform to really develop 3D models of Cities at an unprecedented scale of resolution which is 1cm per pixel and they have been using this for a number of applications like 3D model of one of the major airports in Asia, Vancouver, Downtown LA and we thought that given we have made this investment in this Crowd Funding Platform (ForCrowd) that we will use this opportunity to create 2 companies which will raise half a million each (€) to start data collection and modelling of 2 of the most important cities in Europe, London & Milan.
AS: And once you have collected the data you have modelled the cities, what are the applications?
FG: The applications are unlimited; you take Real Estate you can insert in these out-door models the in-door part so can model the 3D model of the apartment or flat and insert it into the 3D model of the city and so basically you can walk around the flat and see what is outside the window you can couple this with this infinite walking virtual reality platform so that you can literally walk around the city with your 3D helmet or you can integrate it for Local Councils for geographic information systems about the infostructure in the city so you can see what is actually under the street, under a wall so the number of applications are really virtually infinite. When you have accounted for this level of detail really you can use it for video games, you can use it for movies, you can do “virtual shooting” within this model because basically, I am sure if you have seen one of the latest movies which is “The Lion King” you can’t really tell the difference between the reality and the virtual reality and with this level of detail of the city you basically have the same (in the same position) you can’t really tell the difference between a real building and a virtual building.
