although the graph looks like shorts have increased by +1%, in reality cvi & sona have probably just crossed the 0.5% reporting threshold ( so it might only be an increase of 0.15% or so.

iag are still highly cash generative and will only get stronger on the current trajectory, i take the view that people are still prioritising travel and will continue to do so until **** hits the fan. barring a recession, another war, ai crash or pandemic this should continue to appreciate in value (although it won’t be a straight line obvs), ie all macro factors outside of iags control.

iag have experienced leadership which are a very safe pair of hands. i’m still holding a significant amount as i’m happy with the risk on macro events at this moment in time.

I agree, give it a bit of time and this should bounce back, just needs some decent quality management put into place. Only 8 or 9 months to wait until next year full results are out. Ultimately travel demand is still there and although people don’t like paying higher prices they will for the convenience. 18-24 months from now could be looking at +50% from today which is good enough for me.

Apologies for my incorrect info on Forgemasters, thanks for correcting Drury (they make just the pressure vessel). It must have been 18/24 months ago I was reading about them and obviously misremembered the article. Happy to be corrected. 👍

I believe the bulk of the reactor would be made by Forgemasters (if uk built) who are 100% UK taxpayer owned - I looked at acquiring shares in the past. I think here British Steel refers to steel made in Britain rather than the Tata owned company. Very few companies have the licensing to make nuclear reactors, Forgemasters is one of them.

Considering the news on the delays a 2% drop in share price is a great result.

If it remains at £30mil accounting issue then I believe it can be managed from amending existing programmes - cancellation of divi/buybacks & slower expansion of new stores.

As a recent investor here I for one hope we have already seen the lows, management have been writing down goodwill & values of stores in uk so they are definitely doing some things right.

I think the movement today is far too small for there to be a leak, if/when it’s confirmed that it’s limited to the £30mil error, this should have a lot more in the tank.

Not sure if MS (Morgan Stanley) are completely out or just below the reporting threshold (3% for long I think it is).

I took a small position on Tuesday, & am happy to hold for a couple years, fingers crossed all the bad news is out and it will be a gradual recovery from here. If the current high level of travel is sustained/grows further then recovery should be assured.

Considering the amount of SMRs required globally I expect every company that can produce them to the high standards required will have all their production slots fully booked up for several decades to come.

Just listened to the investor presentation, there was a Q&A at the end, one of the questions was regarding buybacks & divi’s. Response was IAG historic long term P/E ratio has been around 8, so anything below that the buybacks would continue to be part of the mix along with a sustainable dividend. Pretty sure there won’t be any special divi’s.

Just listened to Thursdays results presentation, about 90min long.

David Perry got 3 questions in the Q&A but didn’t have the front to turn up in person (they were submitted digitally).

Tufan response to one of those questions I particularly liked: “If we are not the global leader in SMRs then quite frankly we did something wrong”.

Main weakness in results was the reduction in passenger numbers, however hopefully the focus will be on the improved margins/profit/debt reduction etc.

Press seems positive tho so hopefully a decent rise.

Yep, let’s hope the market reaction (to what I believe will be great results) is at least half as good as RR today and we’ll be around the long fabled £4 target.

I don’t think getting into a bun fight with a guest at the CMD is a good look for any CEO, Tufan was definitely right to keep the RR turnaround as the story and not dilute/take the focus away from that with personal attacks.

Perry is clearly an idiot/paid detractor, and that’s already known by RR investors, it doesn’t need Tufan to highlight it further.

obviously it was some time ago that i watched it now.

i can remember he asked a question(s) but can’t remember the order and if he was first. it did tickle me at the time tho and they did take his 1 or2? questions seriously. assume he also got a question in today’s q&a if he was there today?

someone asking a question with a negative slant can be good pr especially if you’re able to counter the narrative being questioned, and both tufan & helen were obviously on top of the detail. - it could also be taking the **** of course.

Anyone watched this mornings presentation? - I haven’t yet (was working) although I will do.
