Admittedly I don't have half the experience Bridges has, a mere 10 years with limited trades, but I am a perfectly rational and honest person. Based on these two what Bridges is saying makes perfect sense to me, especially that all possibilities are gradually moving towards probabilities based on what is happening in Ghana right now. That isn't hype or ramping or whatever, that is just plain common sense :) IMHO gla

Option one is already off the table because Clon have said "all legal proceedings resolved to their satisfaction". Something has happened prior to this being sent to parliament and it obviously isn't anything which would require protest or further delay outside of the parliamentary arena. I feel sure that an announcement will be forthcoming in due course stating that Clon is getting a decent deal out of this; what that might be is what, for me, is still a mystery :)

Hi Icarus, the document is so substantial in size and content it would be near impossible to pick out parts you might want to read; but there is a very details contents page which could direct you to the areas you are most interested in. GLA :)

I think we need to take a couple of other things into consideration here; there is both the' reporter' writing this article saying things and Mr T saying things. The reporter is paraphrasing Mr T, not based on the extensive knowledge that we have, based on our extensive shared research, but based on a limited bias. Best looking at what came from the horses mouth (i.e. within the quotation marks) and think for ourselves of a more appropriate, more educated paraphrase IMO.... Secondly, since this is now before Parlaiment, Mr T wouldn't want to say anything that might influence the outcome of their deliberations in any way, and all things considered, HIS ACTUAL RESPONSE to the reporter seems to be a case of, if you must err, err on the side of caution....I am actually encouraged by this DYOR :)

I can't see this new administration doing anything 'below board' either. If we look at the current purge going on within the oil industry in Ug one can only conclude that fair play and compromise are helping raise the governments moral profile and that creates certainty which in turn attracts investment. I am encouraged by this in terms of Clon's current position &, like your good self GSS, I can't see this administration waking up any sleeping dogs; i.e. prompting Clon to start legal proceedings and as far as Clon is concerned, I recon they will jump on any safe and secure platform that is offered them, and be thankful for it .... I remain very hopeful that this share will at th least yield a decent reward... it must be stated for the sake of newbys & good balance though that a risk remains here but the potential is very high :)...as always peeps, DYOR

FS for what it's worth I think that a change to the initial acreage is the inevitable part of the legalities being resolved. In Clon's position surely accepting a decent compromise would be an extremely wise move as they are surrounded by huge fish in a potentially very lucrative pond. I think that on ratification of whatever deal has been made the heard will arrive and the SP will spike, but then once the details start to come out I think it might start to dip and then settle a bit before the next concrete news...only my thoughts peeps DYOR

If a decision had been made that GNPC were to keep block 1 for themselves and bring in a major, sidelining Clon, and considering Clon have said all issues were resolved to their satisfaction, then it suggest that Con have walked away without a fight and they are lying to us. That just isn't ringing true to me and if Clon are satisfied with whatever deal has been made then that should mean we SH would be too :)

I am very much with you on this GSS, it seems to my mind the only thing that makes sense for all concerned. I am in no doubt that a deal has been done & Clon have said it was to the satisfaction of all parties, not that they were over the moon about it but satisfied. Thanks for your post, I concur :)

Tbh I have seen nothing that would convince me that ratification is imminent, just that the energy minister was scheduled to speak in parliament and there was some speculation it might be about the oil industry and possible news on the block in question. Previously Clon have announced that they have settled all legalities, which directly implies that they have come to some arrangement as to the size of the Tano2 block which was awarded to Clon many years ago before all the legal negotiations started - that was what was delaying things. Now that all the legalities have been settled the block awarded to Clon has been passed to parliament for discussion, which will hopefully lead to ratification, and this coming up for discussion is what peeps are currently speculating about. Imo there is a wee bit more evidence to suggest that something will happen fairly soon and that it will be positive. That however, remains to be seen...i'm certainly hopeful :)

...it's getting whatever deal has been made passed (ratified) by parliament. Having a block confirmed and getting the green light for exploration work to start in a potentially billion+ barrel oilfield will send the sp at least above 1p maybe 2p. If Clon then partner with a big fish, and it is probable they will as the block is adjacent some proven oil (e.g. the jubilee field) then the sp imo will go into 2 figures. DYOR though
