...without a doubt corruption & the hey-diddle-diddle are usually in evidence, but I was thinking about our own ministers here in the UK.........aircraft carriers, subs, HS2 and of course the great PFI hospital swindles...all badly managed and too much blue-sky thinking on cost, by the ministries involved. Our strength with Phulbari is the package - state of the art power generation from coal on site and additional production which maybe railroaded to other power plants in due course. A legally binding contract and heavyweight Chinese partner - what's not to like !!! The bad news for Bungla is President Xi's determination to stamp out corruption....

....quite a read and the Banglas got completely stitched up by Adani. However, Adani sound like they are struggling financially and maybe the whole project will be mothballed / sold if they cannot raise funding. The Indians just run rings around the Banglas when it comes to deals and negotiations, makes one question the competence of the ministers in Hasina's cabinet.

...to pick up 75000. Could be a neat move as others were heading for the exit door and dragging the price down. I find it an interesting situation after so many years waiting and I certainly did not envisage this ending up with a 'heavyweight' Chinese partner, a $4 billion project and some chunky equity stakes...particularly Dyani. This is now a pure binary bet - Hasina & her Government reject it ..OR.....the GCM & CGGC partnership gets the go-ahead. Final thought, I see President Xi as a perfect ally in the wings. He has vision, charisma and the economic might to push through change. Hasina must raise her game and be a visionary for Bangladesh too. A Phulbari 'green light' could push up GDP by 2% - even if that is an out of date figure or too optimistic, it is still a massive project for Bangla. Let's get it moving Michael Tang.....

...drawing to a conclusion. Looks like we are fast approaching 'crunch point' where an announcement has to be made one way or the other. Hasina has been able to sit on her hands during the pre & feasibility stages but with these all now done, the framework agreements in place, somebody has to make a decision. However, lets be realistic and remember this is Bangladesh and we could have the 'committee' options rolled out to enable them to procrastinate further. Similarly, we could have the situation where the proposal on the table is so appealing that it is a 'no-brainer' to the Banglas. I'm happy that the payment by shares to Dyani is now completed and with less than 100 million in circulation, its still a great little company as an investment and we really are ready to go.

If this does actually get away, maybe an IPO on the Dhaka or Shanghai exchanges may be the route to raising the additional $ two billion. Looking at the top 20 heavyweights on the Dhaka exchange, quite a range of industries listed. Too lazy to understand that bizarre currency they use.........crore ???? or something.

....no news drift. FTSE100 up 160 points - miners racing ahead...AND...we're down 6%. Got a couple more months of this unfortunately. It is bizarre that there is never any mention of Phulbari, whatsoever. The rioting / killings were over a decade ago and you would think that the local populace had moved on with jobs and security now on the agenda. We need to hear that the coal is going to feed other power stations in Bangla. and that coal is coming from Phulbari with Hasina's blessing.

TDT.....interesting few minutes and the SP Angel guy seemed fairly knowledgeable on the copper and EV market, particularly the shift towards increasing the use of nickel in the batteries - or nickel sulphate I think he said, Copper outlook very strong as we know and diminishing ore reserves for the majors. Never heard of Georgian Mining - and now I'm a shareholder. Cheap if the issues are sorted - we will see. Cheers Rick

LVC have never worked in Bangladesh and India turned out to be a disaster, involving fraud, money laundering and embezzlement. ..down here in Aquitaine. A quick browse shows the de-rampers sharpening their pencils in expectation of an uptick followed by the usual sub-30p. Possibly, but there are quite a few of us sitting on the side-lines now with a wedge of ��� if this does go sub 30p.again. Two weeks ago we had the classic GCM damp squib, high expectations which came to nought. Lets see this am.
