Just added a few more to my little position.
Was happy with just under 16p so a few more at just over 15p is even better.
Be rude not to take advantage.

Fred16 - I think you just got that amount in the open-offer as a token gesture to be nice or for appearances sake. If they weren't being nice they'd have not bothered at all and just let all the major finance houses take all the 15p shares whilst you don't get a look in. At least they can now say they gave you the chance to get some at the same price as the financiers who can turn the screw. Even if it's not a huge amount.

I have a feeling a lot of the scaremongers/manipulators often have a lot of different accounts thebottomline.
I've seen that sort of thing a number of times over the years.
I think they just log on to them when they want to back up the same things they're saying from other accounts to hoodwink people.
Right now a set of them probably just want as many people to sell as possible (or not buy), in order to get things as cheap as possible before they themselves buy, and go quiet again (or start ramping from other accounts).
They probably see a window of opportunity between now and the 15th, when they can claim it won't rise because some people are going to get shares at 15p, and therefore put the idea out there that there's no value in buying now, then buy for themselves at some point between now and the afternoon of that day (if wanting to see how it goes), after which there's nobody left with rights to buy cheaper.
They're annoying but aren't going to make much difference to this in the end.

Thornback - the short answer is you need to notify when you go above or below 3% and then each 1% threshold above that mark.

I'd buy more at 15p in a heartbeat.
To do that I have to hope the price falls, having happily paid just under 16p on the recent news to start my position, as anything around 15p (give or take a few pence) is a gift.

I'm afraid "Super exciting" and "great returns" usually means there's a risk factor you've not accounted for.

In this instance it was the financing. It was never simply a case of buy SXX shares and be guaranteed £2/£3/£4 that many seem to think it was. If it was the share price would have simply have continued to rise towards those prices over previous years.

The BoD haven't just thrown away some massive prize, that was guaranteed, for nothing.

They did what they had to do to get this funded and built.

This means you could still make very handsome returns from this price.

The alternative was a big white elephant where everyone loses their money because they can't fund the construction.

I don't find the prospect of doubling/tripling my money, or more, ordinary. I think that sounds like a very attractive thing!

God I hate that phrase "trading share".
Seems to be used 90% of the time when someone had badly timed their investment and therefore decided people who invest are doing something wrong and can only make money (short term) trading.

sxx4me - I think plenty of people doubted it. In fact if more people doubted it more, and therefore understood the risk, they'd probably have understood why the SP has gone as it has. ;)

Indeed. It does help illustrate why I waited until last week's news to buy in and hadn't been interested for over half a decade (having had a small punt previously).
Funding on this scale is tough. They tend to take their pound of flesh. That pound of flesh has now been taken.
Nothing is guaranteed but this is now at a point where there's comfortably more upside than downside and one of the biggest risks (funding) has largely been sorted.

Probably best not to write a 300 word essay about shorts then say stop obsessing about shorts ;)

That doesn't make any sense.
Shorts being large doesn't place ANY pressure on the share price.
Shorts rising would place some pressure on the SP depending on how much.
As of the past month or so the short position hasn't been rising it has been falling overall.
Closing shorts = buying (or filling with shares they already have).
So, if anything, you've identified large pools of people who will need to buy shares (if they don't have them already).
That, if anything, will support the share price, not make it fall.

You're just paying far too much attention to garbage written on messageboards it's clear by your language. That's what you should be more suspicious of.

You've certainly not been "robbed of our dreams recently"....the company has just arranged the billions of pounds in cash it needs to make your dreams happen.....so arguably your dreams have actually just become a lot more likely than they were a short time ago.

Whether the valuation goes up from that massive price - who knows. However what they've achieved is no small feat......and I take hundreds of them per year these days ;)

Advocating shorting this now is totally bonkers in my view.

We're lucky to have the likes of Rooster and Sauerkraut giving us the benefit of their free expert advice.
After all, they've got far more expertise than the heavyweight investors or likes of JP Morgan, who are stupidly lining up to hand over billions in funding, or take huge volumes shares at prices like the current one or higher.
If only they knew how foolish they were being and that the bulletin-board experts think they mad ;)
They should get on the phone sharpish to these guys and pay them handsomely for their wisdom (or not).

Rebess - you could easily short through an SB provider and scaremonger. It's easy as pie. Having said that, with the trade size and volume here, that'd be p*ssing in the wind. What's more relevant on this board is you'll have a section of grumpy/niave PIs whinging/slating the company due to the cost of finance, which was obviously never going to be easy, some who'll have sold out and therefore want it to fall to make themselves feel like they did the right thing and not have sold at the worst possible moment, combined with another section of people who're simply hoping to get a better price for their buy in. However all the waffle on here isn't going to make a difference to the trading, as the balance of the large amount of of money being traded overall isn't going to be affected by the very few PIs who might be influenced by some scaremongering on here.

Had been kinda hoping to add a few more longs recently but the ask never dropped and now it's gone up on some buying. Pesky big spread.
