RK - 9500 Kg of electrolyte would be about 7920 Litres at a density of 1.2. Assuming 6.8% electrolyte mass is Vanadium this corresponds to 646 Kg of Vanadium.

646 Kg for 130kWh would be 646/0.13 = 4,970 Kg/MWh = 4,970 Tonnes V per GWh, exactly matching the figures I outlined previously.

Just to be clear - 1000MWh = 1GWh

$5.3 Billion will pay for a number of large renewable energy projects and a good number of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries. The impact for SA if this was spent wisely would be a good move towards increase reliable energy supply without the carbon emissions.

The pressure on SA to move away from coal to renewables will grow and grow. New jobs, new industries and better air quality. A major step closer to reducing the risks from global warming.

Again Bushveld Minerals are well placed to take advantage of this opportunity!

spbhoy, you are right. I think Bushveld Minerals have been very busy positioning themselves for a major change in the energy storage market as well as increasing pressure from the steel market to meet changes in the rebar and steel strengthening market.

The Vanchem project will bring an immediate increase in production capacity and profit to the Bushveld portfolio.

The Mokopane Licences is as close as it has ever been and the SA Government know well the need for this mineral and the employment creation that it will bring is critical for SA GNP as well as enabling renewable energy through backed-up storage. The lobbying and presentations going on in SA right now on this very subject as well as the global pressure to move quickly away from carbon power generation especially coal and soon gas. We have low-cost solar and wind turbines now capable of generating huge amounts of electrical power at incredibly low cost. Add to this large energy storage projects with a world-beating technology where storage is safe, with long duration using VRFB technology and the market is set in the best place possible.

The potential increase of available vanadium into the market with Mokopane and Vanchem coming on stream and the new electrolyte plant at East London in South Africa will make it possible for VRFB manuafcturers around the world to now there is a reliable low cost source of Vanadium Electrolyte for there VRFB systems for years to come. We can be sure that Bushveld will invest and make sure there processing is low cost, and of course they will secure supply through there own independent energy generation projects at Vametco and there is no reason to think they would not look at doing the same at Mokopane in the future will give them low-cost electricity and gird security. It will also open up further the demand from other miners and industry in SA to follow suit.

The market position is very strong and Bushveld Minerals are so far ahead of the curve, due to low cost acquisitions, well trained and motivated workforce with the strongest motivated management who will go to every length to make sure their business is in the news and their industry is doing everything it can to be in the markets view.

This story has been amazing so far, and it is about to go to the next level. The SP has been sitting at this low 20's for weeks and the company is about to see huge steps forward over the next 6 months which will make headlines in the investment world.
Green energy and energy storage is going to be a dominant force. Investing in oil and gas is going to start to become dirty money and those companies will have to change focus quickly and investors will want to find new places to find sure long term income and growth. Bushveld Minerals is going to be one of those companies.

I think Bushveld Energy has a great opportunity to take a large chunk of this contract and they would make such a difference to SA's overall energy outlook heading in a direction which will unlock renewables and then they can start the change away from Coal!

Ophidian, I agree we do need to off load Lemur and I hope this could happen very soon. Having a coal asset is not going to be an asset. The will in the change in our planet means the word coal or oil in investment future is going to be seen very negatively indeed.
I do hope we find a good solution to this an if it is possible use the money from the sale of this business to further grow the Vanchem or Bushveld Energy business.

Bassguy, I think having a company listed in theLondon FTSE would give a great deal of panache and makeBMN very appealing globally. Just being a JSE listed business would limit its exposure far to much. So I don’t think you should worry that we will be delisted. The only thing to change that would be a take over, but right now that is even less likely.
Not sure this helps but that is my thoughts on the question.

Beginerman - I expect Bushveld Minerals to move to FTSE on the day of floatation on JSE. Expect the prices to be linked. Expect a rise in the share price as multiple large investors buy-in, as well as savy SA PI's.
The question is when? My guess is as I have suggested before is Q2 2020 announcement and likely commencement 1st July 2020 directly after the 2019 annual accounts and report. But I don't expect it later than this. BMN.L will have to be on SETS, if you are going to change then, that is the correct time to move to the FTSE. Why would you change from sq to SETS on AIM. As a serious company with serious ambition then FTSE is the right place to be. AIM has served its purpose for BMN and now is the time to change. We have the right person with the right experience to drive this change with all the knowledge of the right people who understand the legal and the cost.
Would that suit everyone? Would me!

Well, FD of a joint listed JSE / FTSE company. That will be very useful. The knowledge and skill sets required are now in house. Perfect synergy and a very fine appointment.

Well, this month should bring one of the most significant news items to Bushveld Minerals which will double its production capacity over the next 2 to 5 years.

This is just at the time when energy storage is coming into the bigger picture and Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Technology with its long life, long duration and no loss of depth of charge will become one of the most important technologies in the ES supply chain.

Time to get excited!

So, for me 3400 tonnes + 960 tonnes is equal to 4360 mtV. However, of course there may be more information may have come to light during the transaction which may hold this back for some reason, or they may have decided already to implement a faster upgrade to the plant through a suitable asset finance deal. We know that Vanchem will need $45 million over 5 years to bring it to the nameplate production capacity and the business will need to go stage by stage so they can maximise the revenue through the plant. But we can be sure they will have a very clear targeted plan to get the maximum throughput for the most cost-effective kiln upgrades first to get a reliable output as quickly as possible to be cost and operationally efficient.

As Pdub has said Fortune and Mikhail have built a great team and we can be sure it is everyone's interest to get the new plant as efficient and operationally profitable as quickly as possible.

I am sure the Vanchem Completion RNS on the 31st October 2019 will be very detailed with some exciting news items included which will give us all news, which will install much faith to the ways Bushveld can increase there output to meet whatever customer/customers they chose to supply to grow and make the business as successful as possible.

In the meantime, as I said earlier I am going to make the most of the opportunity to add more as long term holders could see a ten to twentyfold increase in share price by 2027. I am happy to wait, but we all have our own goals and objectives and as long as each individual is feeling happy with their investment then that's good. If you are not sure and you doubt your investment decisions, then only you can decide your plans.

I just keep looking at the Energy Storage market and looking into which is the best technology out there for stationary storage and there looks to be one winner in terms of long term performance and safe repeatability - That is the Vanadium Redox Flow Battery.

29th August - About Vanchem

The Vanchem Business is a primary vanadium producing facility with a beneficiation plant capable of producing various vanadium oxides, ferrovanadium and vanadium chemicals. The Vanchem Business uses the salt roast beneficiation process, similar to the one used at Vametco. Following a refurbishment and ramp-up schedule, which is estimated to require approximately US$45 million of capital expenditure, which will be incurred over a five year period, it is expected to reach steady state production of 4,200 mtV per annum utilising all three kilns. The plant consists of the following components:

· Milling and concentrator (magnetic separation) facility for the treatment of magnetite;

· A roast / leach configuration with three kilns;

· An ammonium poly-vanadate precipitation plant;

· A de-ammoniation / vanadium trioxide plant;

· Vanadium pentoxide flake (V2O5) production facilities;

· Two conversion facilities (an electric smelting facility and an aluminothermic smelting facility) for the production of ferrovanadium; and

· A vanadium chemical plant producing various vanadium chemical products.

On the 1st May -
· The Vanchem Business provides immediate production growth, adding an estimated 960 mtV on an annualised basis using one of the three kilns on-site and is expected to achieve a steady-state production of 4,200 mtV per annum following refurbishment.

I am sure it was a typo:
The target for Vametco in 2020 is 3400 mtV and Vanchem already has a capacity of 960mtV

There is no reason to believe that if there was a larger supply ore this could be increased by repairing another kiln.

Lindon – Further to your point – ‘Given today’s reiteration of expected ‘V’ processing capacity for the next couple of years... is it possible this is now being seen as a scheme come a couple of years too early for them... and could this be one of main the factors keeping the institutions away from getting involved and the sp down on the deck?’

I think you need to consider that once Vanchem purchase is complete and the fact that they have 4 kilns in place, they will easily be able to focus the production priority towards V203/V205 which can be used for the production of vanadium electrolyte. They also already have plant in place their to make electrolyte. It will be very easy to transport ore for processing from Vametco to Vanchem ready to be processed. When needs must businesses find ways. They will also surely be close to completing phase I of the electrolyte plant by April to June next year.

If you consider that the potential partners of the VRFB could be UET / Cellcube / Avalon or even another? Then they already have suppliers of electrolyte so it could be shared. But I do believe the same as Alfa’s point that we have enough vanadium and we can be already putting vanadium aside ready for processing when it is needed.

It is also worth considering that the VRFB systems will not be filled until they are on site. The projects are to be ready by 31st December 2020. So filling ready for commissioning in late November early December would be just fine.

One this to be sure is that Bushveld Energy are not going to let this project fall away from them and neither will South Africa want them to either. I think we need to think this through and consider that Mikhail and Fortune have not worked for 6 years to get to this point and let it slip away.

Vauch - I don't think you can just expect a company to pay a dividend because you think they should pay one to reward your support over the last x many months years. The company will pay a dividend when it has made sufficient profit and it feels that it can afford to do so.

Quoting from today's RNS under the growth summary:-
"As previously communicated, the Company's investment proposition remains primarily capital growth on the back of the Company delivering on its ambitious growth targets. The Company is nevertheless confident that when fully implemented, its vertically integrated platform will generate sufficient cash to return some to its shareholders through dividends."

I think we are all disappointed the Sp has not continued to grow from its high of last November and has not achieved what we thought it should be being at or above £1 by now.

However, in the scheme of the companies growth, it is doing everything it can. Having agreed on a wage structure for the employees over the next 3 years to June 2022 it has helped them plan their operational cost as well as incentivise the workforce with good condition, training and structure to keep a happy and loyal workforce.

Given what we all know is coming and the potential to be honest as a continued investor I am amazed I can still keep adding at these low levels and over the coming weeks will continue to buy more as funds allow. There is no doubt that the future is good. We have a broker target of 45p and a realistic revised target from SP Angle today of 80p.
If you read my post from earlier you can see my expectation of an FTSE listing at the same time as the JSE listing and this will be at a time when everything is in place to give a wide range of high capital investors solid confidence that Bushveld will be able to deliver of continuous growth with a strong profit stream which to be fair will be at a different level than today's PI's. This may also be at a time and level when some of today's early adopter PI's will be looking to take healthy profits. This will also protect existing LTH's who want to keep a chunk of investment for future dividends and capital growth. If you think like a long term business entrepreneur you will see it actually makes sense. It will take away the worry that some current investors have about a sell-off as we get close to the £1 SP price because many Fund managers will be happy to fill their shoes and run with this up to the multi-billion valuation level if everything plays out in the Energy Storage market. They want solid and less risk. We are taking the risk and will reap the best rewards. So hang in and make the most of these opportunities you know more than most and therefore have the most to gain.

Beginerman - I think the brokers have a good steer on where we should be right know. The mining and processing is the key place to be as the worlds requirements for Vanadium will be growing significantly over the next few years. But having control of the vanadium electrolyte output where the profits are are likely to be 2 to 4 times higher than the steel supply industry will mean our value will increase dramatically in the second half of next year.
The potential for future valuation is multiple billion pounds if vanadium becomes the key energy storage electrolyte technology due to all the advantages we have highlighted.
True value will be reached later in 2021 but will continue to rise to 2027 as the energy storage market becomes a mega industry.
Let’s see.
