Hi smickster yes downward pressure is certainly a distinct possibility because as we all know, markets hate uncertainty and often take flight until the muddy waters clear. And we obviously have uncertainty here in bucket loads. And as you say - did the BoD foresee the current situation coming to pass? And that’s where things get uncertain again, because we were led to believe earlier on in the year that honest endeavours would be made to patch up relations with Newcrest & BHP.
I’m afraid that over the last 3 or 4 years - at least, uncertainty has haunted us in one way or another and that’s very arguably why the SP currently languishes at a paltry and almost farcical 25 pence!
How much of this is attributable to our BoD? Not all of course - such as Ecuador politics & Covid - and there can be no doubt that SOLG has gone above & beyond in supporting local communities affected by our field operations.
But a good slice of the current malaise rests fairly & squarely at our directors’ door imo. Far too little communication with shareholders and PR which has all too often left a vacuum for uncertainty and doubt to fill. For an exploration company to judge/deem that their exploration results can be put on the back burner before publishing - for months and months and months - without being market sensitive, is frankly beyond my understand.
Anyway, enough of my opinions lol. I just hope that our board do stand up to the plate now and come out fighting with all guns blazing, rather than going out with a whimper down the line. Let the drilling results come into the light and shine !! And let’s hope they are good lol :D
