DBW if WI is happy that things will end happily, then as someone who’s seemed to be on the pulse for a good while, it fills me with confidence.

Guys, feelings and frustrations are running very high at the moment. I sincerely hope that things come to some sort of a head/resolution within the next couple of months and either the company is fully or partially bought or shareholders are given a very clear roadmap to have future faith in - together with much improved PR.

In the meantime, a humble plea from me to keep your hats on and don’t burn bridges by completely falling out with other posters - many of whom have travelled the SOLG road with us through thick and thin.

It’s only shares and money and whilst very important to each of us, because that’s why we are here, there are more important things in life - I say that as I sit here watching BBC children in need - ‘nuff said.

A - trades out in force again today making up around 90+% of total trades I should estimate.

PFS - we can but hope that it contains some stellar numbers, but I tend to agree that the market may have a muted reaction. However, we are also expecting upcoming drilling results which might move the dial ? And what chance a bid? In addition, the AGM has the potential to be lively ! All in all I’d tend to be much more optimistic than your good self ssmith.

Sean I take your point and we do certainly need some levity on here while we wait. And I can’t say too much about the inane chatter because I contribute to it myself lol. I just think it’s a bit rum always making BNc the butt of your jokes, that’s all. Hopefully some good news flow incoming then we can all rejoice being above 30p again lol, and on that basis I’ve had a top up today. Not quite the 25p I wanted but it’ll do :)

Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree but there was a previous poster who changed posting names - who professed to have connections in Ecuador and had various posting names. Why can’t someone have literal insight from being on the ground ?

Maybe I’m being conned - I’ll live with it lol - but I think the thrust of the post rings true - SOLG can’t be the only sweet in the shop ??

@ Monte why go for lesser options? Maybe because they would be a whole lot cheaper and easier !? Perhaps the Solg potato has become so hot/difficult to handle that many don’t want to touch it ?

Shippy he doesn’t even start until December 1st ! At least we’ve finally sorted out that uncertainty. The market will now judge him on what he delivers and how soon. Pressure will surely be on him to deliver lots & quickly ?

Market just treading water waiting for some action to start.

There are many ways to read into this new CEO - if indeed there is anything to be read at all. If you suspect he will be a loyal asset to BHP then why did he get the job? Wouldn’t it be like the SOLG turkey voting for Christmas?

Or have SOLG chosen him to try to smooth things over with BHP? Maybe BHP demanded one of ‘their own’ as a payoff for repairing relations?

Maybe none of the above. Things should hopefully become clearer leading up to the AGM.

Do folk think that BHP may now finally take up an official seat on our board - as per their shareholding?

So we finally have our new CEO ! Thank goodness. Can anything be read into his previous years with BHP? On what terms did he leave BHP I wonder? Others will be able to explain why he will have the dual role of CEO and MD … but this must surely be good news and things are starting to progress :)
