It doesn't look like a loan to me...looks like a sale. EFH can dispose of them how they like.

Well there are a few brokers that agree with you, let's see where we are next quarter. I can't see any end to the upward sentiment until high forties at least anyway, whether it stays there is another matter. I would hope divi goes up with results improving as they are.

There was a premium for the tax dodge, for sure, although in its own right SHP is a leader and of course we've just had those cracking quarterlies... I think we are is the minimum end of fair value, low 4000s seems a bit harsh.

Anyone check my sums on this - Re RNS of 1 April, 4mil received for 1.5mil shares transferred to EFH = 266p/sh (price at the time was 360p/sh). That's some discount to EFH. Should Opay state whether EFH still hold rights to the shares?

If anything I think the initial drop was overdone, I'd targeted lower with the short as sentiment may have taken this to pre-offer levels. However, clearly Abbvie felt there was more value to this company than current SP. This alone I think will take it to the 5000s, perhaps not without some retrace on profit taking as you suggest. I don't think anyone should be blamed for taking some off the table with profits to date.

Also long here, the short opened in Oct didn't work out and was closed pretty sharpish (thank god). Incredible upside especially on leverage, IMO.

Could be higher, I gather most aren't tracked if they are below 0.5%.

Dead cat bounce currently, I might open a short at 175 if it gets there, or at 159 as trend confirmation.

It's been a quiet day on AIM for herd trading, unless you caught that tpet spike you were always on for losing through overtrading today. Also guilty myself.

Herd in, herd out. That's all. Now you will have profit taking to take it down to near the price it was before the herd arrive. I'm not deramping this share, it could well turn out pretty good in the long term. But this is the trading mechanics of AIM oilers (look at OEX, MSMN, RXP as examples). All short term sentiment, it's happening to PPC today :).

I don't fancy hitting it today, on a macro level the morning market rally will probably take this too high for the standard Friday sell off to take it close to target... we'll see. I'm confident on next week, though.

What a load of nonsense. For every shorter there is a buyer, or someone who has bought (i.e. lends), this is the regulated market and no naked short selling. It allows for the efficient allocation of capital. If you don't like the fact there's competition in this the most capitalist of environments, you're in the wrong place and should consider a cash ISA.
