The move down is pretty rapid. In the grand scheme, 1200 to sub-1000 over the course of two months is a very rapid rate of decline. So no, it does appear I am calling it pretty accurately and the strategy revision needs to come from your corner, not mine. No moving of goalposts - I have given you a specific timeframe.

I'm pretty convinced we're in phase one of the next bear market. During the last one c. 2008 gold rose enormously (remember all the we'll buy your jewellery adverts?) No brainer going long on gold from here.

Looks like a bit of a sucker rally over the past couple of days, another China hammering and this will be sub-1000p in the blink of an eye.

Sitting at 5610 currently with strong order book so entry will probably be just before close, entry at 5640-5650 target.

Hadn't opened yet as hard margin piled into short the miners but back over 56 just before the close so going in with a short now, expecting sell off tomorrow going by market reaction at RNS.

Looks like another lower double-high has formed.... short from here.

Does seem to have dropped far for a company with buckets of cash and a main listing looking pretty nailed on

@Ntogreedy not yet, there's weak resistance around 5270 so that seems the sensible point to wait for the next short (possibly an intraday 5290-5300 if you can watch it.).

Hi @notgreeedy if you traded as you wrote, well played. Looks like the trend channels are narrowing, given there's probably not more value left would suggest a breakout to the downside is imminent.

Out at 551 from 485. Offer to bid, 13.5% gain in 4 trading hours was too tempting, should go higher but don't want to get too greedy in case the shorts have another go. GLA.

The general feeling I'm getting is that the miss is going to be in the region of 15%, in which case the drop yesterday was too severe and those that got in at yesterday's lows will do well.

I would think 15-20% would be 'significant'... in which case this has been overdone. The market is going to have to punt at where the profits are... I think we'll go to around 550-575 here, but pressure from the longs it's also going to want to make some short interests book profits before speculation eats at them. Pretty happy with my entry (485) and I'm looking to bank a +15-20% bounce reversal.

Probably going to see some short closures (profit taking) after this, so bought in on the dip here. Will add more if it drops further to a point. Been waiting for a 'buy low' opportunity for a while.

What's a substantial premium though? Yesterday's close was 6.75.... 13.5 would have been a 100% increase which is substantial is it not... The market is guessing between there and the previous 30p levels... Dangerous getting in now, trading blind.
