I've been watching on and off for about 18 months. Saw yesterday's results at 7am and tried to buy on bell. Was negotiated trade only. Tried again a bit later and was quoted 99p and didn't pull trigger. On any sort of retrace I'll buy, cheap even at 99p on EV/EBIT. Only thing stopping me was illiquidity and wider market wobbles - easy to imagine me being stuck in following a pull back as the world falls apart outside
Who is still on the board now then? Has anyone spoken to IR since Burnell's resignation? Some job he did of leading the investigation. Have signed up on Share Soc. Will look into contacting Forum too, although suspect they'll be disinterested in an email from my hotmail account. Nice rapid response from the FCA and Serious Farce Office as well...not.
on a bad day. Appreciate your honesty Kowloon - respect. I expect there will be a class action at some stage. I'll take part if there is on principle, but my loss is too small to be a lead claimant. Hopefully Forum don't get in first. I think liquidation is the most likely outcome personally. I think if it had been recoverable Costis et al would have tried to bluff it out. As I said earlier the nature and circumstances of his admission are incredible and bizarre, I can't believe he sold too - surely he isn't thinking he can just walk away freely?!
The whole episode has been extraordinary really, particularly the manner of the revelations today. I was unphased by the report itself and when opening the Company Statement RNS I fully expecting to see a firm rebuttal. We (as the general public/PIs) should be able to rely on the board and their professional advisors to make these sorts of findings. The QCM report was made from the other side of the Atlantic from publically available information - why did this prompt the confession? The timing and nature of this seems very odd. Yes, you'd hope the auditors would have at least independently verified the cash balance. I don't want to set my expectations too high though, especially since the levels of debt etc might be restated. I think Enron were signed off by a big 4 firm though? And QPP? I suppose we'll all know soon enough. Re-commencing trading would be madness, really hope that doesn't happen!
I called this one totally wrong and am left eating my earlier words. I still think the QCM report was sloppy and found the orchestration with TW distasteful, but they've justiifed their position by flushing the rats out the drainpipe. Very irritating episode, but as Spikey said a lesson...like with QPP I'd relied overly on the professionalism of the auditors and non-execs. Clearly a few people were asleep at the wheel. This happens over and over on AIM (to varying degrees) the whole thing absolutely stinks. I don't know why Costis moved to the US. He'll almost certainly be nailed to the wall over there, but I doubt the authorities over here will do anything much - they're underfunded and incompetent. I hope someone freezes his assets before he sticks all of his ill-gotten gains in Belize or wherever. Ash as others have pointed out the illegal bit is specifically stated in the RNS, it isn't speculation at this point. Given there's misrepresentation and falsification the cash almost certainly isnt' real either. I too hope it will remain suspended until it's wound up, but I'd be surprised if we see more than a couple of pence a share (if anything).
Yes, I'm familiar with Quindell. Gotham had a pre-existing reputation in this field though...whereas as I've stated QCM seem like a straw man at best. The "Managing Partner" writes on Seeking alpha...offering buy tips on Berkshire Hathaway amongst others. He's also commented on a GBO bear article earlier this year...and some of the material appears recycled from that. He's no Carson Block. This is literally from 20 mins DD on my phone, it'd be nice to think that other holders may do the same before getting wobbly. There's be a barrage of sells on open as shareprophets fans open large shorts...the key will be the response from holders and ii's.
As for the report itself, well I have no way of cutting down individual assertions, nor does anyone else external. But simply putting something in writing doesn't make it true - if I was to throw a load of lewd accusations abt a political figure should that suddenly end their career? Should they have to rebut each of my comments in depth? Why is this any more credible?
I'd invite everyone to consider the authors of this report for a moment, before proceeding any further. Their linkedin profile has 22 followers, and acknowledged they have less than 10 employees. Their own website clarifies that the number is actually 4. The 4 is comprised of: - An Israeli paratrooper, turned O&G downstream manager turned "value investor" - A litigation lawyer turned transactional lawyer - A diplomat turned Investor relations expert - An admin assistant Do I really need to go on, or do people want to keep debating this as if it's from Goldman Sachs? There's at least 2 posters on here who have individually spent longer in financial services than that entire organisation combined!
is quite overwhelming...great posts on here in the past from RW, amongst others. Strong growing business, fcf positive (as evidenced in accounts), decent tech space, recognised by industry reports, low multiples, etc, etc.
Cast my chips in with the bulls this afternoon, at c.30p. Usual specious analysis from TW, bizarre that he carries so much influence. Paul Scott seems a bit more credible, but it's marginal really as they both actively short and talk their own book.
That's interesting, I've upgraded from a Strong Sell to a Sell lol. I expect you will have seen the best of him, given the power dynamic/nature of relationship. But then again I have no personal knowledge or experience of him, so am perhaps being harsh. As you know from our discussions elsewhere I have a lot of respect for the self made, but am cynical about such meteoric rises ('zero' to tycoon) Let's see how long monsoon lasts. Some good expert posting on advfn re future profitability and valuation. I'm betting I can buy lower than today though
