Chris Heminway, Exec-Chair at Time To ACT, explains why now is the right time for the Group to IPO. Watch the video here.
British.
A return of capital distribution is a characterization of an entity’s dividend payments to shareholders for income tax purposes
Doesn't it make one proud to live in a country where the tax laws are so succinctly explained in clear and concise language

Why would HL e mail shareholders telling them cash will be in their account on the first of Feb or thereabouts?
If you mean Hargreaves Lansdown then they haven't emailed me.
and if they are referring to Hurricane ( have you other shares that HL are refering to?) then they would appear to know more than they should. - Corryvreken is correct in his earlier message.

@Simples "Anyway this conversation has sod all to do with Hurricane "
CORRECT
....... Well not until such time as a real Scottish Government copy Norway.
May I suggest you use Alba Shaor as a more appropriate indication of your claimed affiliation.

ArGie: only a million - Big Shot
Hardly a big shot. I'm pretty sure there are those individual investors with a much greater holder than my total .
Just tested a sale of 100,000 and was offered 7.82 and 7.77 on 500,000 and 7.73 on 1,000,000

Like you I hold substantially more shares in Hurricane than I do in CA, I also believe that CA's responsibility is primarily towards their own shareholders, their attitude towards Hurricane can only be secondary, however to allow the value of their 29+ % shareholding in Hurricane to be diluted would be detrimental to the value of CA's shares.
As such I consider that CA will do all it can to improve the value of their Hurricane holding where it also helps hold or improve the value of CA as a whole.
My aplogies Senseman, my previous message should have been in response to Simpleinvestor's misconceived belief that graphology is a serious science. Without viewing your handwriting (which I suspect he has not so done, unless you and he write to each other) even the spurious belief that graphology can be used to prove the owner of a 'handwritten' text is an indication of his lack of understanding of the meaning of the word.
......We all have certain words we use on a regular basis in a stylised form when conversing with others. You can identify a person as easily through the written word as you can through the spoken word or maybe you believe you can't and that upon hearing a person such as Jacob Rees-Mogg at 100 meters you would mistake him for Jeremy Corbyn.
I think the use of the word " semantics is correct... not graphology

Morning Simpleinvestor,
Whilst I have no likes or dislikes concerning your posts and indeed have on occasions have investigated your comments, some of which have been valid, whilst others have not.
I would suggest however that you understand the meaning or the words you use prior to using them.
Whilst I do understand the meaning of graphology I have attached the wikipedia meaning as it is verifiable by all (You don't need to take my word for it)
Graphology is the analysis of handwriting with attempt to determine someone's personality traits. No scientific evidence exists to support graphology, [1] [2] and it is generally considered a pseudoscience
Sense,
Please could someone clarify, for benefit all:-
1. Is Brent oil market 7 days a week. or Mon-Fri?
To paraphrase Hillary Clinton... When I said 7 days in my comment on the POO .... I misspoke.
I'm not 100% sure, but it would be logical for the 5 day average to include weekends as oil is traded 24/7 around the world.
Jakek,
First/last 5 days.
I did know that but hadn't had my first cup of coffee when I input the message. The average will be in the region of approx $83 as there are a few dollars of expenses that are also deducted.
Never put fingers to keyboard without coffee :(
Brent crude futures traded near $79 per barrel on Wednesday after falling for three straight sessions, remaining under pressure as economic warnings from major US banks weighed on the demand outlook and hurt risk sentiment.
Though hopefully the price won't continue to drop and be below the current average of approx $83.00 for the first 7 days of the month when the price of the current collection is determined at the end of December.
The price cap will most likely not be all that difficult for Russia to circumnavigate and whilst Russia's main customers may well use the $60.00 as a bargaining tool, if China starts to open up and the price of oil in general increases then India and China will be more than happy to accept discounts from the whatever the price happens to be.

I'm fortunate as my average is 4.08p which is a current loss of only 60%.
I must admit that I'm surprised at the continuing failure of the CEO and the rest of the board to make any attempt to keep sh's informed.
Not the sort of professionalism that one hopes from a company's senior executives.
Though it seems consistent with many AIM listed companies
And hopefully Brent will pick up by then.
I wasn't expecting today's drop to US$83.00
It was a very interesting interview and based on that and the fact that I already wanted to top up I tried to purchase a further tranche of shares.
Can't get a quote via Hargreaves Lansdown for any amount, but can get quotes if I want to sell.
Loads of small purchases going through though, someone is collecting.
Sense:
I just can't see them wanting to accept 7.7p offer when Dec & Feb offloads means 6.5p a share already as cash in bank.
I fully agree with your comment.
CA would surely be moving against the basic tenet of the fund if they were not to capitalise an asset to the greatest degree.
It woulld surely antagonise SH's for them to do so.
I know it would not find favor with me.
I have a suggestion: why do we not get rid of him/her/it once and for all. At 1400hrs precisely today lets all, and I mean all, hit the filter button and pop his monika into the cage.
For God's sake.
If you don't like what a poster says, don't read him, but asking everyone to block a poster is juvenile.
