Isn't using cash on share buy backs achieving the same as your above paragraph?

IMO it is vey unlikeliy that we will receive a bid for VOD, as it has too much debt. Wouldn't it have made more sense to repay some of its debt with its money, instead of spending it on buy backs. If shares are bought back and cancelled then it should increase the asset value per share and benefit shareholder, although it will also benefit the company by reducing its dividend payouts as there are less shares. However, if shares are bought back and just held in treasury for the future distribution of them as executive bonuses, then it will not benefit PIs one iota. Happy days.

I notice that VOD are dumping 3% of Indus Towers to repay debt, which they are obviously concerned with, as is the market. Wouldn't it have been better to repay some of its debt instead of wasting money on share buy backs, or am I being naive.

I totally disagree with your post partly because it is not relevant or appropriate on a share forum. Yes, there have been a lot of atrocities and wrong doing in the past, but sometime you just have to forgive and forget, draw a line in the sand, and move on. Pulling statues down will not solve anything. My own archbishop, Welby, advocated reparation for the slave trade. Most of the descendents from those times are probably now dead. Are we gong to ask for reparation from Germany for their atrocities in two world wars when hundreds of jews and soldiers were killed. I, for one, think that Windrush was the worse thing that has happened to this country, but that is another argument for another day. Jesus taught us to forgive one another, and that is what we must do.

The way the share is drifting down suggests the end is nigh. I hope that I am wrong. THis company has been terribly managed . Despite share placings it has failed to capitalise on its assets. Sadly I am a long term holder.

Please don't give up hope. I am well under water, but have watched stock movements over the last 2 months. There have been a lot of chunky buys. I bought more at 1.48 last week thinking that it had bottomed. How wrong I was. I do not believe it has much further to fall, and it is looking very tempting to a predator. Or am I wishful thinking?

I have been in two promising AIM companies, I3E and Yourgene, both with great potential. In both we have been sold down the river. This unfortunately seems the norm for most Aim companies. It is fait accompli. All very disappoinbting.

Unfortunately time is pressing, and we have no white knight to save us from this undervalued reverse takeover. I3E is .IMO, a fundamentally good company whith great potential. Al;owing for the fact that a failed bid may decrease the SP, I and my parishioners are voting NO. With a failed bid and the corrupt BODs gone, it may, given time, be a good long term investment.

We have been watching share movements here for some time. There were some big buys yesterday including one for 12m. Hopefully we may get a bid or news of a break up of the company, as a lot of us are under water with this one.

We do not see the point in this. All it will do is make the shares less marketable and reduce the dividend payments by 1/10, or are we being too simplistic.

To reiterate. THis is a reverse TO by a company with a woefully weak balance sheet and who needs us more than we need them. I cannot understand the BOD recommending this offer unless there are a lot of "brown envelopes" flying around. I and my parishioners have all voted NO which is the only feasible vote. Again it will be the PI's who suffer if it goes through. A typicallly badly regulated AIM company.

I am with II and have now the option of voting for/against the reolustion. This option should now be available with Hargreaves etc. I have voted against as it grossly undervalues our company.

I am afraid that the city does not like Mars. I know that it has a lot of debt, but so too has M & B. They are trading at a near all time high and on a ridiculous PE ratio in the 30's. Sure;ly on that basis we are undervalued?

We have been watching these shares and we are long term holders. Over the last few weeks there have been some sizeable buys, indicating that a position may be developing. Let us hope for a bid, which can then put us all out of our misery.

At present we have no debt, are making profits and paying dividends. Why do we need to be taken over? If you look at the financial strength of both companies, GT needs us more than we need them. In essence it is a reverse takeover. I cannot understand why ou BOD have recommended it as it seriously undervalues the company. As we are dealing with an AIM compny, to me, it smacks of skullduggery. Let us pray for a white knight.

I would like Abdn to keep II, as it is, IO, a far better dealing platform than say Hargreaves Lansdowne. It could prove very profitable. I have been using them for years before Abdn took them over.

Suggest you switch to Inmteractive Investor. We have never had any problems with the Dididend being paid on time.
