RE: LGEN Vs AV17 Jul 2024 18:13
zac0_4 no idea what price you bought and sold for to get to these figures , but one hopes over time you make 5 or 6 % on sp rises pa i aim for 15% at least on my portfoilo, and atm lgen is 9.3% on divs, even with no sp rise and lets say an 8% div , that compounds to close to £30k not the £24.8k you talk about !!!
i am up for example 123% in my portfolio in less than 4 years and thats only my current holding, i have sold a lot of shares for 50% profit and bought back shares. i am >200% up over the last 3.5 years.
to get the money out and pay a net wage of £50k from a sipp you would have to pay some of that at 40%
my quick calc would put me at £600k worse off if my money was in a sipp over an isa in 40 years time and that if my shares did ****. and offered not much growth. they give you a tax fee help knowing they always get it back later ;-)
but even the basic maths £20k compounded for 5 years is so wrong you quoted.
also this is on a **** show share, i am up 300% on some of my shares if that was in a sipp it would cost me tens of thousands to get my money out. i'll never pay tax for another, i hope 40+ years.
