Odd these days Aviva hit with a 5% drop on great results !

think we were lucky to only get 1% drop which is sort of good news. any one expecting the £12 today was deluded.

I did buy some more at £3.65

but why are we buying pre Budget !!!!!!

i actually don't like results days now, so many stocks just drop like a stone unless they smash it out the park and then some.

having ok results is not good enough any more, i have 2 companies tomorrow so not looking forward to either really.

these sp's are baked in for good results and market expectation.

has usa shutdown hit flying hours ? must have done.

the market expects strong performance any thing less is a sp correction sell off !!

plus we have rr trading below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages which is never a good sign.

iag had ok results imo, they had headline profit growth, but q3 earnings missed expectations, and we lost 40p on open !

high expectations are baked in, one slip on one figure and it will goto **** witha £1 drop.

fingers crossed really.

tricky little share this one, we need 3 things now

1: USA gov to reopen

2: a friendly Budget

3: A BOE rate drop in Dec

I went to our flagship store today, and again met with frustration.

Saw a nice coat but only in sizes S or XXL. again this is not just M&S this is retail for 56 years of my life, when will they ever order the right stock levels ?

M and L always sell out, size 8 shoes always sell out, I don't get it sack the buyers !!!

It's 5% down and not returning back to it when we have 2 amazing FTSE days.

BP and lloyds up 20% and 15% in the same time frame !

As always hold a balanced pot.

my HL says ave price paid £1.0782p yet at £11.58 it says I am 964% up which don't make sense.

I asked Ai this was the outcome, - Detached 4 bed house average in Richmond: £4,088,000 — this reflects premium pricing due to location.

I tell you now they are not selling stuff cheap in Aldi Richmond :-) no poor people live there !

Aldi are not stupid ones in a rough area is not going to be like one in Richmond ! It's called " income elasticity of demand"

Ie Richmord will stock more organic, gluten-free, or specialty items (e.g., Wagyu burgers, artisan cheeses, premium wines).

Aldi in poor area's would not sell these items.

M&S does not significantly tailor its product range to lower-income areas in the same way.

Are a few people on here thick or just stupid ?

i bet aldi in " richmond" is nice, adli round here is a **** whole and the cars on ave are £2 to £5k ones, so you are not parking a nice car in the car park.

m&s here is a massive market leading store and that does have all the suv's and cars £50k plus in it.

rich people won't change where they shop. i would never dream of going into a aldi ! the foods **** the veg don't last, the fake brands are ****.

my other half keeps wanting to save money and she goes in there some times, but i don't get why !!! i shop in the main at waitrose and sainsburys, m&s is a treat for me and we go once a month but it's much much nicer in there than anywhere else, and the people and older people on final salary pensions etc.

when the older generation have passed away m&s might see a food hall drop maybe !

fender forgets m&s has moved into 6th place from 7th overtaking the co-op. food is booming for them.

Well it should go back to £4.20 pretty soon imo.

what we all need however daft it is, is the USA gov shutdown to end and the budget to be over, these 2 things are frustrating the markets.

lol they won't increase anything ever, what they will do if not this month then next time is make CGT the same as normal TAX so 20% and 40% in normal accounts. etc

I just stooped paying for one, had 6 letter so far in just a few weeks and loads of threats now and dates of house visits.

it must cost them a lot to send out 2 letters a week !

I am told when they vist just say "not today thankyou" and close the door. ! I'll see what happens but the letters get worse and worse threats.

Mystic my pot is up >40% this TAX year I bought IAG at £1.02 it's £3.81 ahead of target which I said £4.20 my Feb 26 ! LOL that is called profit you fool.

As always have a pot with other market in them, BP up, LLoyds up, RR up . I am a LTH and got in IAG at £1.02 so a 7% drop is what it is.

I am sure my pot will finish up in Nov over all. ok that's daft to say with budget day in NOV !!! we could all be down on every thing !

I think a working person pays >50% in TAX PA already and that's without buying a car which is now £5k in showroom TAX.

I also have 4 cars at £650 to £750 a year each in TAX.

Higher earners pay even more than 50% TAX :-(

EV should pay TAX though I pay £1850 a year petrol duty and VAT and £650 TAX to drive petrol car, and a EV weighs 2.5 tons and is ruining the roads !

EV owners need to pay at least £1k per car in TAX imo if not £1.5k PA. So I agree in a EV TAX and it will be tiny if they do it, I would TAX EV owners £1k PA at least.
