No one is going to switch to Debenhams on line, the name is dead and forgotten, only reminder are the big empty stores in many town centres, many on here thought it was a fantastic move by Boo buying the name for £50 million, hasn't actually done them any favours, Boo offer cheap throw away clothing and with the high streets now open Primark and other cheap clothing companies are doing well.

With Debenhams being £50 million, they should still have £225 million left :(

Simple question

Why are the BODs not buying into their company ?

They have to sort out their IT issues and cancellations problems as a matter of urgency, I have 2 friends both going to New York, one in September and one in October both have booked with Virgin as 'can't afford to take the risk with BA' one actually works in the airline industry. How many long haul (revenue earning) passengers are BA losing due to inefficiencies.

Interest rates up, cost of living up, energy prices up, I honestly wonder how some people are going to cope with the extra costs, surely a trip to the cinema for some is going to be too much of a luxury and an unnecessary expense even with some fantastic releases over the next few months, some will disagree but I am being realistic and genuinely concerned about finances for many people.

DC2007 and SCB I think you are both correct in what you state on finances wasted Debenhams is a dead company, shoppers see the empty stores on the high street and wouldn't look for them on line why Boo spent £50 million on the name i never could understand. Can't remember the last time I saw a Debenhams add, was probably the Everything must go Store closing poster.
