Its not really tosh at all Goatlegs but if it helps you justify your euphoria then knock yourself out! I explained myself more than adequately for someone of average intelligence and above to understand. So, im going to cut you some slack.
Pandy2
I would hang on with AFC energy. While I am appalled at Bond's greed and all the false starts and unfulfilled promises (Ive voiced my idignation several times and had to listen to rampers BS justifications) I think this could make you some money depending what you bought at. In fact, I have made some money and covered my original investment and still have a load Im hoping to make money on.
Heres my history - bought at 23p watched it nosedive to 1.8p - hung on and didn't buy any more.
Watched it go to 80p within about 18 months I believe it was and hung on for £1 (didnt sell any) and watched it dive back down again to 20s.
Watched it double in price virtually overnight when Abromovivh bought in and decided to sell a load. Watched it drop back to 20s within weeks and bought back in substantially increasing my shareholder without spending a penny!
Watched it go back up to 87p about a year or two ago and decided not to miss out ths time so sold a load at that price and made a handsome profit.
Sitting on load now and it doesnt owe me anything BUT Im not going to make the fatal mistake and hang out for THE BIG ONE (whatever that is).
I hope that gives you some heart in what has been a really annoying share to be involved in. My gut is that it will get back to a fair price and not selling at under 80p. Take nice profits as they come along - i wished id done that from the start to be honest. Good luck!
Glad you're happy Goatlegs "Bloody brilliant" in my book will be when (after 17 years) the share price actually gets beyond £1. At the moment we are 8p UNDER the launch price and Bond is putting 100,000s of my (and otrher investor's) pounds into his personal bank account. If AFC folds tomorrow he walks away a moderately wealthy man.
However... it looks like AFC may finally be getting its act together BUT if we do not see sustained, tangible progress (not abstract non commercial targets) then as ADE1234 said it will just fall back. A VERY FAMILIAR PATTERN with AFC I'm afraid.
Does Bond's Bonus re-trace as well in that event????
17 years then... I bought when it launched. What IS AFCs fault is its pathetic lack of progress and thet may mean we may not be able to take advantage of the levy. Were you deliberately misunderstanding or just being a tad obtuse?
Thats good news, lets hope AFC have actually got a viable product to take advantage of this. The last 20 years have not been exactly scintillating in terms of technical or commecial performance; maybe we can then actually drag ourselves out of this pitiful penny stock, bottom of the barrel situation and Bond can actually earn the salary and bonus the investors are showering upon him!
Ade,
I'm not sure, however extreme your irritation, that it's good form to refer to people online as "nonces". If you don't like what someone says then just block them.
This is a disappointing and frustration time for all AFC holders.
Well, Ive traded enough of this stock over the last few years to cover costs and make a decent tax free profit and I still have a sizeable chunk left. So, ive not left myself over exposed like some.
I've said that umpteen times before BUT I wish I'd ditched the whole lot when it got to 87p a couple of years ago instead of only 30%!
If any of these lease deals come off then maybe the SP will get interesting again but regardless of AFCs future Bond has proven himself to be both greedy and self interested.
Amid all the blather the one thing that really stands out is AFCs appallingly low SP. After pushing nearly twenty years in business its maximum sp was 87p and that was for a very short period. I think we can safely say that along with its current and average SP over the years is a massive reflection of what the company has not achieved (promises or not) when you stack this up against Bonds salary and bonus it seems a wee bit off kilter to me! Im sure someone will come up with some fabulous rationalisation as to why we should all be happy about that but at the end of the day the SP is still what it is regardless of any rationales that might be offered.
OK Ade,
I've seen this go to 1.8p but that was before they had made any significant technological advances or developed the kind of partnerships they now have. On the other hand, im not seeing much by way of sales. If it does go to 8p I'm certainly not buying more and I'm certainly not selling. For me it's a hold until at least 80p or it goes under. I've made decent profit of AFC so I'd be a fool to do anything else. Boring but there we have it!
It's not but someone was suggesting that if afc dropped to 8p it would be a great idea to buy up lots of shares. I said that buying up shares that are in freefall is not a sound strategy. The world is full of investors who bought up vast quantities of penny stocks beleieving they would make a fortune and didnt. To dip to that level would be pretty awful. I would buy on the rise or on very positive news (unless I was insider trading and thats illegal). I have to say I dont agree with the premise that it will go to 8p anyway. OK?
Not exactly easy money, its taking a while. having seen that happen once (and I was stupidly hanging out for £1 with no logical rationale behind my thinking after all it was a 4 bagger for me at that price) I decided not to repeat my error and traded a few times.
So... ive now covered my original investment and put a substantial (but not life changing amount im afraid) in the bank from afc. and still have a good holding. HOWEVER it's taking a lot longer than I thought it would! I've given up listening to Bond but it has been a good investment and im not selling at anywhere near these price. their stratgey seems sound but who knows the details! Good luck all.
I hope youre right. "gearing up" could mean anything sucha s PR and greenwashing but if it means a substantial investment in capital euqipment, systems and processes and they've already done it then great! If not, then it's an easy decision to fall back. I do know that historically the car industry was drawing millions out of EU funded programmes each year to meet certain environmental and technological objectives but in fact were dispersing that cash for standard operations. Because they sat on so many of the commitees they were writing their own cheques and nobody could prove anything. BUT... that was 30 years ago, under the fourth framework maybe that's all changed now.
This is beginning to look very interesting. The distributor model is undoubtedly the right way to go esp. for territories such as middle east, asia and africa etc. Do we know if these folks have skin in the game? i.e. do they have to purchase and sell on AFCs product? Do they share any risk or resource on this project other than any time they may decide to invest in trying to sell deals? Always good to get a distribution partner tied in and commited beyond good intent.
It is a matter of fact that AB has become rich from his bonuses and salary (at no risk to himself) while the SP is lower than launch price and sales are at virtually at zero. I am not disputing the strategies and partnerships the company has in place neither am I disputing the difficult markets. On the other hand other players in the clean energy market have vastly out performed AFC within the same time frame. If AB took just his (already handsome) salary and had a bonus related to actual sales then this would be regarded as a sign of commitment. As it stands he gets rich whatever happens. Does he give back his wealth if AFC goes under???? So I'm questioning his personal integrity. Just another guy with his nose in the corporate trough. So, I think Garonne/Ade have a point to be honest. If and when AFC lands some big contracts and the SP goes into the £££s I will personally present him whatever huge cash bonus he feels he is owed. Until then he should stop consuming shareholders money in bonuses. It might also be good for his burgeoning waistline!
IF there is a large turnover and attrition rate of salespeople (I say IF), it will be (as with any company) because the deal is too hard to sell for an account manager.
That may be for several reasons: 1. the company is not well-established enough to hand over sales to a standard consultative selling approach or 2. Because the kind of deals required are part of an enterprise solution which is best handled by C suite people with connections or 3. Sales will be conducted primarily through resellers, partners or distributors in which case an account manager's skills are not what are required. A Distributor Manager is what is required.
My concern at the moment is that any big contracts will be handed out prior to "window dressing" bids and behind closed doors. In the face of various governments involvement in this from a grant etc perspective a lot of high level network will take place and big players or connected players have the clout. I recall the distressing documentary on how Covid mask contracts were handed out.
Let us hope little old AFC has the connections and clout. AB is taking enough salary and bonus solets hope he earns it i.e His plans and startegies produce Sales which are not currently flooding in.
Account Managers and Consultative Sales people etc are probably more relevant after full commercialisation.
Difficult to know exactly what is going in at AFC to be honest.
Good luck all.
