I'd like to think you are right but this is a bear market for the next 18 -24 months. BP and other energy companies are making obscene profits which they are passing to shareholders as dividends with no indication they are investing in alternative energy and the UK government has no stomach to make them. Various governments are focusing on short-term fixes to the energy crisis; finding more north sea gas, recommissioning coal mines, not long-term green energy projects that'll pay off in 50 years.
AFC will not benefit from the current situation although they may land a deal despite it.
Hi MPO818,
yes, ive seen those variants. I've been in since the launch in 2006 I think it was, I agree about leadership earning their money. I don't now what your vision for AFC is. I dont spend too much time on this board tbh. My vision is to see it become very successful and make me some money along the way. As to whether AFCs strategies are correct I couldn't say. Back to the point though; I have found that not trading these shares when it shoots up makes me no money at all. When I sell when its SP is high then when it drops back take profits AND buy more shares I DO make money and keep a holding in case it goes stratospheric. It also helps keep my frustrations at bay.
Hi MPO818,
AFC has spiked several times over the last few years with its maixum SP being in the upper 80s. In none of those instances was it triggered by huge sales. So you may yet be surprised! Not saying it will mind you but i usually make myself feel better by selling a few at that point, taking some profit and using the rest to buy back in later. On the one hand I would like to make some money on this before a. it collapses or b. i die of old age and on the other hand i would like to retain enough shares to make some serious money on the off chance it actually makes it big! AFC would test the patience of Job to be honest hence the frustration and sometimes unpleasantness we are seeing on this board. (not accusing you of course). Fingers crossed

Hmmm thats nice but we need volume. The lack of it is reflected in the SP. We need some major revenue streams. Units here and there are a positive signal for the future but i womder when we will ramp up to major manufacture for sale or lease? Just around the corner maybe?
Well you know what they say: "Opinions are like *ssholes - everyone's got one." Social media and online opinions in particular I've found!
"Make or break time" actually comes when AFC runs out of money and it can't raise any more cash and that's a way off. So...frustrating as it is we just need to wait. All the opininions of self appointed, online investment gurus and upset investors who want their profits NOW wont make any difference.
The SP will return provided AFC has a truly substantive offer and tangible contractual relationships bith of which won't become overwhelmed by the big global players who are busy announcing their environmental credentials moving in. Personally, I believe in AFC hence I'm invested. BUT we have to recognise whats going on globally and the bear market. Most investment experts are of the firm belief it still has a way to go before it bottoms out. So, id be surprised if we get into the £1 plus territory for at least a year. Hope to be proven wrong though!
The reason for posting negative is less rational and wholly human.
1. I'm really angry and frustrated that this share is not doing well so i want to insult Adam Bond and hos cronies (I assume he looks at this stuff).
2. Im tired of listening to people constantly defending a share im invested in that is going down in price so I shall give you a slap. Plus you may be a plant so im indicating I know you are a management stooge encouraged to quell the rebellion and im not falling for it.
3. I just need a voice.
4. im feeling powerless and a good rant makes me feel like i have some kind of influence.
or in my case right now 5. Im doing something really tedious and I wanted an excuse to break from it i.e it's a displacement activity!
Dont get me wrong half of these rants I tend to agree with whether its against AFC itself or rampers but it doesn't mean itll change anything.
I dont think even the most deluded, egotistical SOB would really believe their views will either sway someone elses opossing opinion or the SP if they were being truly honest. What we DO KNOW is that it would stop if AFC shot to £1 plus soooooo could we see a rise pleeeeeeaaaaassssseeee!
It's a certainty that a lot of companies dealing in the Hydrogen/clean energy sector will do extremely well over the next few years. As to whether AFC is one of them is very much in question right now. If i had a penny for every time someone said: "AFC is ready to take off" or "£2 round the corner" or "It cant stay at this price for much longer." Id be wealthy off that alone.
Happily Ive made my money back and some good profit on my original investment in AFC since 2006. So, Id be a fool to sell and im still in profit. BUT... is my confidence high? I'm with DW im afraid on the evidence at the moment. I think theyre flailing around. Let's hope im wrong but I wouldn't buy any more AFC right now and thats for sure! At £1 I'd ditch the lot unless the SP was off the back of a massive contract!
Let me elaborate. Because you are correct. ABB/Shell is on grid. If major global brands with billions establish their reputation in EV (or any electric equipment) re charging then they can use their brand and corprate/ ploitical connections to secure contracts to develop or adapt their technology to AFCs target market. Its not a level playing field and if someone is going to hand out a massive contract or facilitate contracts through governmental sponsorship they will want to play safe and go for a well known player. If "Noone ever got fired for buying IBM" and all that! AFC is a relatively unknown organisation so they really need to be visibly associated with a major player where their technology is visibly involved and publicized. So far it's not acheived that and if the off grid market is as big as we believe then a "Ballard" "Shell" etc. will walk into someones office and say "Give us a huge contract, we can do that!" They they'll try to figure out how afterwards. It locks out competitors. We do know for instance that Ballard fuel cell buses simply didnt work but that didnt stop them building and selling a fleet becasue they are Ballard! Now, if AFC energy get pulled in off the back of that to be the doers then it needs to be celar its AFC technology if they are to leverage the saleinto other projects. If not, the SP wont get the sustainable rise we are hoping for. Hope that clarifies - its always been my worry - that AFC will simply miss the boat and "Betmax" will never see the light of day because everyone is using VHS!

Hi Southerhay,
I would agree it is a truth that getting a "new" (fuel cells have been around since 1842) technology out of the lab and making it into a turnkey product in a commercial environment is a lengthy and complex procedure but we must equally bear in mind that over that last two decades, several billion dollar industries have been created.
Meanwhile in that time and i've been in this share since 2006 when it first went public the "it takes time" mantra has been running fairly consistently on this board for well over a decade. The reality is that you or I have no idea right now why, if or when AFC energy will get a significant series of contracts through the door. It's pure guesswork unless you have an inside source and that's insider trading. So then Im not sure people need to hear the constantly repeated and extremely tired "it takes time to bring it to market" lecture. WE DONT KNOW!
Hope its soon though. :)
Hi 1Johntique. thats a great question but you musn's start asking pertinent realistic questions otherwise you challenge things too much and just get patronised with snide comments such as "you are naive."
The "It takes time, huge volumes are just around the corner, we're at the turning point, next year is our year" delusion has been running on this board for years - dont challenge it or you burst some bubbles!
But really this time 2022 IS OUR YEAR - see you all on the beaches!!!! Seriously though its worth holding provided youre diversified and you dont need the cash but its aim so noone really knows to be honest.
Hi Garonne,
it really is of little consequence what McHaggis says - unless he is using insider information to inform his trading strategies. He does not have access to such information of course as it is a criminal offence so he is using research, probably a bit of gossip and rumour leaking out of uninformed people in or around afc or other questionable sources and some extrapolation. All very nice but if you look at the SP amid all his positivity there is little useful correlation. Credit to him for his efforts but at the end of the day the SP is what it is despite positive posts. AFC will either make it in this exciting market or it wont! If you've made your money back on this share already and youre not desperate for the cash and you are diversified then its probably worth holding. Thats it to be honest. The rest is conjecture.
I agree but I'm still a little confused about the comment from Scarpa50 in answer to "what happened at 3 p.m.?"
Anyway, it's a welcome rise :)
Holding, still in profit, made my money back on AFC years ago and banked some great tax free cash last year so all good! Would like some more excitement though! Fat contract, followed by a quick run up to £1 plus maybe????
Not that im complaining but I can't see any recent news about Germany and oil. Germany phasing out Russian oil over the next year is 9 days old as a piece of news. has something elese just happened then?
