I can't believe our bad luck here. Of all the thousands of potential investors we have to have bloody Woodford as our biggest shareholder. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Be nice if he offloaded completely somehow and ****ed right off.
Market cap now = value of Fosun deal.
No value included for cash in bank or any potential whatsoever.
Bonkers!
Presumably when he reopens his fund there will be a rush for the exit which will force him to sell his liquid stocks so it would seem a reasonable strategy to short some of those investments however he's not going to be able to quickly sell swathes of RENE shares and after a few days the fund will settle and probably start attracting new investors and the short spree will be over. In the meantime I should think RENE will remain pretty much unaffected. If you're looking at Woodford's portfolio to pick out stocks to short, RENE would be one of the last you would target because it's hard to buy and sell in volume and as we all know, positive news from trials or news of another partnership has the potential to send it up wildly.
It's one of those "just our luck" situations where clearly it would be better for us holders if Woodford wasn't such a large shareholder but I really can't see how it's going to adversely affect us now. The damage has already taken place and knocking it from floating around £3 to floating around £2.75 is hardly that significant or worth worrying about.
Relax, hold, make money :)
Thanks a bunch Woodford, you idiot.
Who was the old big holder of RENE from years ago we were please to get rid of? I can't remember their name. Great history of attracting duff investors though. Frustrating but there's nowt we can do about it.
... could launch a hostile takeover bid rather than mess about with partnering. Before they buy up the whole NHS, that is :)
Who cares? What matters for RENE is whether the science works or not. If it does and you hold, you'll be minted. If it doesn't you'll lose your bits.
Thanks Phil. I can't see why they would be classified as non-UK so who knows where our RNS is!!!
I haven't read all the detail but if it was an existing big holder buying or selling but not crossing any threshold, might that allow for the non-disclosure?
So are we never going to discover who made the £3M+ trade?
I'd rather boil my head. I strongly suspect such things are basically scams.
What do you want a report for, anyway? All we actually need is an update from ReNeuron themselves to tell us how the 2nd cohort is getting on. 3rd party so-called "information" is just bluster. The only thing that matters is word from the horse's mouth.
PC01,
I hear what you're saying but I am still fascinated to know whether someone bought or sold over £3 million worth of ReNeuron shares in a single trade and who that person or institution was.
I've been here many many years and that's the single biggest trade I can ever remember so I make no apologies about wanting to know a bit more about it!
I get that the order to buy or sell should be kept private but once the trade has actually executed I feel I have a right as a shareholder to know if someone else has bought or sold shares. I'm probably being naive as to why that's a bad idea.
What a joke it is that buys and sells aren't just transparently reported in the first place. Why all the smoke and mirrors?
Maybe way back but in recent times it reached about £6.30 in 2015 and that was before any clear efficacy being shown and before an £80 million deal with a Chinese pharma. So yes, profoundly undervalued at half of that price now.
... only now they're buys
Virtually all trading seems to have dried up. I expect we'll now see it creep up in anticipation of the next RNS.
It's a perfectly normal trading pattern to be expected IMO. It's gone up massively, some people will be happy to cash in their winnings and in the absence of news it'll drift down a bit until some kind of threshold is met when there are more people anticipating the next RNS than there are profit takers and then it'll go up again. However the sustained movement will depend on the contents of the RNS's and with more game-changing possibilities on the horizon I for one am very happy to watch it play out in the expectation of MASSIVE gains when we hear about the next partnering deal, payment milestones from Fosun, continued efficacy in RP or something positive happening in the stroke or exosome platforms.
Enormous potential here and unless you want to cash in a profit, you need to be in it to win it.
Oh well, there's always next week :)
